Noah’s Global Quest: Reconnecting with Family and Uncovering Secrets
The Twelfth Ring is a YA adventure novel that follows fifteen-year-old Noah as he navigates the complexities of reconnecting with his estranged father, Magnus, while embarking on a thrilling quest. Set against the vibrant backdrop of the Bahamas, Noah’s journey takes him across the globe—from Mexico to Sicily—in search of a mysterious medieval ring.
Alongside his father’s team, including the resourceful Viggo and his unrequited crush Isabelle, Noah faces numerous dangers from a relentless adversary who will stop at nothing to claim the ring. Throughout the adventure, Noah uncovers shocking truths about his father that ultimately reshape his fate. Keen?
Inspired by Adventure and History: The Origins of The Twelfth Ring
The inspiration for The Twelfth Ring came from a combination of my love for adventure stories (from Treasure Island to Indiana Jones) and my fascination with history and archaeology. I have always been intrigued by the mysteries of the past and the idea that there are still undiscovered secrets waiting to be found.
The thought of uncovering a long-lost artifact or solving an ancient puzzle is incredibly exciting to me. I wanted to create a story that would transport readers to exotic locations, immerse them in thrilling adventures, and make them feel the same sense of wonder and excitement that I felt as a teen. Fans of the Uncharted movie or the Outerbanks TV series will love this book.
Adventure and Mystery for Young Adults: A Thrilling Read for All Ages
The book is primarily targeted at young (and young at heart) adults, particularly those who enjoy adventure, mystery, and stories that explore unusual family dynamics. Readers who appreciate a good adventure and compelling characters will find something to enjoy in The Twelfth Ring.
Those who enjoyed fun reads in exotic locations (my characters are very lucky, they travel more than I do) will love the novel. I am a huge fan of Clive Cussler, and was very proud when a reader described The Twelfth Ring as “Dirk Pitt for young adults.”
A Journey of Growth and Adventure: Relatable Characters and Epic Fun
I hope readers come away with a sense of excitement and adventure, feeling as though they’ve embarked on an epic journey alongside the characters. Beyond the thrills, I really want them to have fun. The characters drive the story in The Twelfth Ring.
Every character has quirks and faults which make them more relatable. Noah himself is a bit of an accidental hero, who puts his foot in it more often than not, but ultimately his story is one of growth, friendship, discovery, and the courage to face both external dangers and personal truths.
Exciting Sequel and New Fantasy Series: What’s Next for Readers
I’m thrilled to announce that the sequel, “The Templar Sword,” is already available on Amazon. I plan to continue expanding the series, exploring more historical mysteries and further developing the characters’ arcs. Additionally, I’m currently working on a gritty fantasy series, with the first book, “The Walls of Shimar,” already out. I aim to keep writing stories that captivate and inspire young readers.
Life Beyond the Pages: Rock Music, Coffee, Manga, and Family
I’m an avid lover of rock music, coffee, and Japanese manga. Although my gardening skills need improvement (I even managed to kill a potted cactus!), I find joy and balance in my life in London with my two cats, two kids, and one husband. Writing has always been my passion, and I’m excited to share my stories with the world, so I’m very grateful to the Author’s Lounge for this guest post. When I’m not writing, you might find me at a rock concert, sipping a cappuccino (single shot, not too hot!), or diving into the latest manga.
