It’s what characters like Thanos, Eleven, and Doctor Strange are said to possess. In his science fiction book about telekinetic powers of the mind, Ronald J. Fischer crafts a similar character. He develops the power to move things with his mind, an ability that is called telekinesis. And just as the possibility of telekinesis is uncertain in real life, the search for his ability’s origins becomes the book’s central plot, an internal turmoil the character wishes to resolve.
Is the Possibility of Telekinesis Worth Exploring?
In reality, the possibility of telekinesis hasn’t been scientifically proven or disproven. Perhaps it will never reach a level of acceptance unless someone has publicly demonstrated such ability. However, with current proponents of the ability having been discussed beyond anecdotal testimony, is its possibility worth exploring or considering?
The possibility of telekinesis may never be proven but will likewise never leave people’s minds and mouths. There has been a rise of parapsychologists using experiments to explore and provide positive results of such a matter. Some parts of it have even been backed up with people claiming to undergo telekinesis training for its development.
Indeed, despite the lack of scientific consensus to support the possibility of telekinesis, perhaps it is a tad bit possible. Explanations can involve and revolve around magnetic fields and the existence of sound/heat waves. If it does happen and people begin to discover or experience signs of its reality, it may be different from how fictional materials portray it to be.
Brain Implants, The Closest to Telekinesis Humanity Can Achieve
The actual possibility of telekinesis may depend on what people mean by the ability. If they strictly conform to the idea that it’s about exerting force purely through the mind’s power, then it’s way beyond the realm of physics. However, if people can consider a less “fantasy” and more mundane concept of it, then the answer can be different.
People picture telekinesis as an individual squinting at an object and waiting for it to move. But perhaps there can be another form, and that is through scientific discoveries.
Brain implants have enabled people to control something through their minds, but it’s not like books and movies. The operation of robotic arms through wired signals or software objects makes the possibility of telekinesis closer to reality. These have been done and have made humans closest to achieving a telekinetic nature.
Telekinesis might sound like something off of movies and fantasy books. But in this period, technology can make reality indistinguishable from magic. Although it may differ from what cartoons or sci-fi books make it out to be, this version still makes reality seem more attractive.
