All have experienced being loved and loving someone. Some of you have changed, and others may not have.
The thing is, that is not entirely true. Sometimes changing yourself is suitable for a relationship—in fact, often, it is necessary. Relationships are based on a compromise because there is no such like as a “perfect fit” between two individuals. There are some “pretty darn close” fits, and “almost-there” fits, but you will never find someone who just so happens to conform precisely to the life you have established as a single person. Many changes will happen naturally throughout your relationship; others will be more complex adjustments and transitions that require a lot of work.
This is a tricky subject to discuss because there is a fine line between good change—a change that makes you and your partner happier and more potent as a couple—and self-effacement. There are things you should not change about yourself and reasons for which you should not change. But what can and often needs to change is how you think about yourself and connect with your partner.

About the author
Raymond Quattlebaum has African American heritage. The third oldest son in a family of five lives in the upper West Side in Manhattan, NY. Quattlebaum is a unique name in structure and appearance; impressive, everyone would say.
Quattlebaum has always had a love for poetry. He loves working out, music, and even partying and clubbing, but his passion is poetry. It all started in public school when he was a young kid growing up in PS 84. He remembered writing a poem for his third-grade teacher Mrs. Albert. She liked it so much that she put it in the school’s newspaper, which was quite exciting and inspiring to him. Because it was his first time writing poetry, it made him feel good about himself; it pushed him to write more poetry as time passed.
Since then, as he became older, he read several other poems by other poets that moved him, especially in his teenage years. But the singing group called Earth, Wind & Fire – the elements of life – inspired him to write more poetry. It was adorable. The way they would construct and word their lyrics in their music is something you would have to listen to yourself. It is spiritually divine, unbelievably, and beautiful.
