Raymond Quattlebaum is an African American writer. His surname, Quattlebaum, is a unique name in structure and appearance. Even from a young age, Raymond has already appreciated poetry. He’s deeply passionate about poetry! This passion started when he was in public school.

As a kid growing up in P.S. 84, he wrote a poem for his third-grade teacher, Mrs. Albert. His teacher adored his writing so much that she put it in the school’s newspaper. It was exciting and inspiring to Raymond as it was his first time writing poetry. This pushed him to write poetry even more as time went on. Growing up, he was drawn to the Earth, Wind, and Fire singing group. The Elements of Life inspired him to write poetry more in the way they would word their lyrics in their music. It is something you would have to listen to yourself. Raymond described it as “Spiritually Divine. Unbelievably Beautiful.”
