A Charming Florist, A Deadly Secret: The Psychopath Who Hides in Plain Sight
Whispers In The Wine Cellar is my second stand-alone novel. Published using Publish Nation in February 2020. It’s about a psychopath (Edward) who is hiding in plain sight. An attractive and charming family man posing as an approachable florist in order to gain easy access to his chosen prey, vulnerable and attractive women. Women who are disarmed by his good looks and approachable nature. Edward has little regard for human life; everyone exists for his own pleasure. Anyone within his way will simply be exterminated. The only time he shows the hint of a genuine, softer side is with his 5-year-old daughter.
A Multi-Perspective Dive into Darkness: Voices of Victims and Predator
When writing this book, I knew that the protagonist would have a voice. That readers would get to read from his perspective. I’d also decided his wife would too. As I started to write each chapter, I experimented with giving the victims their own voices too; soon each chapter was being written from a different characters point of view. This proved a tricky route to take, but I’m pleased with the final result, and I think it gives an added and more chilling depth to the story. Parts are moving, scary, and often downright disturbing.
Fueled by Imagination: Dark Thrillers Born from Dreams and an Active Mind
The inspiration behind my writing is an overactive imagination and a keen interest in the human psyche. Particularly the darker side. A lot of my ideas often come from the bizarre dreams I have. I’d describe my writing as an out-of-body experience as soon as I start typing the story and characters takeover. Whenever I’m not writing, an unfinished story calls to me, and often several new ideas do too. My ADHD brain is very active. It can be hard to stay on topic, making editing the hardest part of the process. I write for an over 18 audience and hope to give them both an entertaining and disturbing read. Hope to continue writing within the thriller genre, mixing in both psychological and sometimes supernatural elements. I prefer stand-alone books as they allow me the freedom to develop new characters. However, due to overwhelming demand, I’m currently working on the sequel to my first book, Death Made Me published in 2017.
A Chilling Journey: Acclaimed for Its Eerie Introspection and Gripping Narrative
I’ve received lots of positive reviews. 4.3/5 stars on Amazon and 4.2/5 stars on Goodreads. Here’s an excerpt from one of my favorite reviews:
This book is so well-written and well-thought it reminded me of those eerie IDX documentaries. And eerie is the perfect word to describe the book, with its off-kilter introspection into the protagonist’s deranged mind.
A wild ride from the first chapter until the last, it gave me shivers and I loved every second of it. A thrilling gateway into the ugliest parts of the human psyche…
Life in Droitwich Spa: Family, Furry Friends, and a Passion for True Crime
I live in Droitwich Spa, a suburb of Worcestershire, with my husband, our two children, and a Staffordshire bull terrier, Lilly (the baby of the family). My husband and I enjoy watching true crime and crime fiction box sets. We’re late to the party and currently enjoying Dexter.
A Sinister Connection: Love of Flowers Leads to a Dark Game of Survival
Here is the blurb to Whispers In The Wine Cellar:
A florist, an estate agent, a prostitute, a call centre operative, a wife and mother. What could possibly link them all? A love of flowers. That was a start.
A skilled florist, who uses his produce and charm to select his beautiful victims. Compliance is a must. You will be bound, you will be kept, you will be broken.
Failure to comply is not an option. Can they keep his interest? Can they follow his rules? A distraught ex-husband, faithful friends and loving parents. The search has started, the clock is ticking. Who will survive of those that are missing?
For those interested, my book is available on Amazon.
