Commitment and perseverance brought me to the peak of my success on May 25, 2006. At approximately seven a.m. I took the last step in my journey to the pinnacle of the world. The sky was blue, clear, and bright above me. A white blanket of clouds, a portent of a storm, gathered below me. From my vantage point I could see the endless peaks of the Himalayan range. The air temperature was close to minus fifteen degrees Fahrenheit with a wind chill of thirty-eight degrees below zero. I must have felt the cold somewhere in my heavily clad body. However it could not distract me from this most powerful moment. There I was standing on the small platform that is said to be the top of the world. I was graced by this powerful mountain and allowed to be one of the fortunate few to actually summit her 29,028 foot peak that glorious morning.

I stand with you in encouragement and in celebration, for I know and trust the journey you are embarking on will be powerful. With commitment, dedicated action, and perseverance you have the potential to arrive safe and sound on top of your world.
