Celebrate a Legacy with Losing Mamie, the LeBlanc Family Peach by Aisha Bint David A Heartfelt Memoir Featuring ‘Mamie-isms’ and Cherished Family Photos

The book, Losing Mamie, the LeBlanc Family Peach, by, Aisha Bint David, is a collection of stories about the author’s mother. It is a memoir honoring her legacy. The book includes “Mamie-isms” as she had made up many phrases throughout her life to express certain concepts meaningfully. It also contains pictures of her mother from when she was a child right through adulthood.

Honoring Mamie: A Memoir Inspired by a Sudden Loss and a Promise to Capture Her Legacy

The inspiration came from the very sudden death of my mother. “Mamie” is the name given to mom by her grandchildren so all of her children and in-laws adopted the name. In May of 2016, Mamie was sitting in her car waiting for her favorite store to open. She fell asleep momentarily, as she often did, and never woke up. According to the coroner, Mamie had suffered a massive heart attack in her sleep and never felt a thing. It came as a shock to me and all the family, and I promised myself at the time, that I would write a book honoring her legacy as a mother. It took eight years to find the courage, the time, and the determination to compile the book, but this summer when one of my children was undergoing surgery, I started the memoir and finished it about a month later. She was always encouraging me to write books about my travels and after I had completed that series, I finished her book as well.

A Memoir for All: Comfort for Those Who’ve Lost a Loved One, Especially Unexpectedly, and for Anyone Seeking Support Through Real Life Stories

The target audience is vast. It may be for anyone who has lost a parent, especially without any warning. It may appeal to anyone who’s lost a loved one, especially unexpectedly. Designed for mothers everywhere who yearn for the wisdom of their own mothers. It is for children who may be missing their beloved grandmother. It’s also for people who love real-life stories about ordinary fellow humans who never got the recognition they deserved. It’s also for any woman who has suffered a miscarriage as this was something she rarely spoke of, but when she did, it was apparent how much it had affected her life. In short, it’s for an audience looking for comfort and support in losing someone.

Finding Closure: A Memoir Offering Comfort and Lessons for Embracing Loss and Focusing on the Joyful Moments

I hope readers get a sense of closure, by accepting the loss and remembering the good times while letting go of anything negative. Life is too short to hold grudges or look at the sad moments, rather, it’s a short race requiring a lot of energy and focus to be happy and successful. It took eight years to set my emotions aside and focus on “the lessons” that may assist another grieving person.

Balancing Teaching, Travel, and Family Life with Upcoming Books and Adventures From a North Carolina Author

Plans include teaching and travel. As a parent myself, I take my responsibility very seriously. I want to offer my children proper support. While simultaneously feeding my soul a proper diet of work challenges, a healthy lifestyle & a bit of fun as well. At the moment I’m transitioning from my current job. Hopefully, more books will be coming soon which include some of my adventures abroad and family traditions; perhaps a cookbook? Thank you for supporting this fellow American author! I’m married and a mother of six bright children ranging in age from early teens to mid-twenties. We reside in beautiful North Carolina, where I enjoy long walks late in the afternoon after preparing a healthy meal. Cat lover and crochet novice.

My books are available on Amazon, also our small family business can be found online on Facebook or Instagram (sadoun_co_).

This story is not only a wonderful remembrance of an amazing woman it is a story that should inspire you to be the best version of yourself. Not everyone was as fortunate as the daughters and son and grandchildren of Mamie/Peach like we were to have been so blessed by her every word and action. She lived truly selflessly! I found this story to respark the goodness she left in me and let it out! The author was super respectful to not share the abuse, torment and disrespect Mama endured through generations until her dying day but focused on the positive. In the end, , she used all of it for the good of service to others. She is greatly missed. May we carry on her legacy through similar mindsets and acts of kindness and thoughtfulness.
