Who doesn’t want to be successful and happy? Being in this state of life is an innate human desire that drives an individual to persist in reaching this goal.
What is a fruitful life?
From the word fruitful, people can surmise that it refers to the state of fruitfulness, of bearing fruits abundantly. When associated with human life, fruitful life is a life that’s filled with abundance and opportunities for growth and success.
But there are “weeds” in life that prevent an individual from reaching this abundant state and hinder them from reaching their state of success and human desire.
Kenny Harmon’s Sad Papaw Books depicts his early years and how his family was able to overcome hardships through perseverance. The book takes the reader on an inspirational journey that touches on challenges and discouragement and how to come out a survivor and a winner by reaching and striving for their full potential.
The Weeds in Life
What is considered the weeds in life?
These are the negativities, the hindrances that stop a person from becoming who they indeed are and from becoming fully happy. At some point, these negativities have become so embedded into a person’s life that the individual starts to exude the state of becoming toxic.
These negativities, or “weeds,” are often linked to the moral concept of a sinful nature, such as pride, anger, lust, gluttony, envy, or greed. These characteristics and unlawful human desire need to be removed from a person’s being because these natures only lead to an individual’s destruction of both body and soul.
Why strive to reach your full potential?
The aim of realizing a person’s full potential is akin to discovering their life’s meaning and purposes. It helps them answer the questions which at some point will suddenly pop into their lives, such as “why are we here,” “what is our purpose,” or “what is life’s meaning.” Realizing your full potential is to achieve your full capability.
For instance, a person singing beautifully in the shower refuses to sing in public because they’re shy. To truly become who they are, they need to overcome this inhibition and reservation so they can sing confidently in front of other people.
And if individuals become who they are, they’re likely to live happier and healthier lives.
Pruning the Weeds
To live happier and healthier lives, the person should need to let go and break free of things that keep them from being happy and abundant. Here are some things you need to cut off and shift the sail of your life towards a more positive direction.
Let Go of Being Controlling
It is inherent for most people to be “self-made” to achieve success by being in control of their life. This is the stereotyped image of a successful person, confident and entirely in control of their destiny. Or are they indeed in control?
This is the Achilles’ heel that leads to getting confused and frustrated with their life. Nobody is in complete control of their destiny; you are not 100% in control of anything and everything that will happen to you. The same goes for the people around you. You are not in control of their destiny, no matter how much you try to direct and influence their choices.
The sooner you accept this reality, the more at peace you’ll be, more relaxed, and more in harmony with the environment.
Let Go of Pride
There’s a difference between feeling proud and being prideful. The emotion of being proud is a natural human reaction when someone has accomplished something, often linked with the feeling of satisfaction. A prideful nature is an excessiveness of being proud. It is an exaggerated behavior toward appreciating the value of oneself. What makes it sinful is that it tends to devalue others to put oneself on a pedestal.
Let go of pride because this characteristic will only cripple you from reaching the best version of yourself and a positively-lived life.
Let Go of Insecurities
A person’s insecurity could be in the form of physical insecurity or social insecurity. Physical or body insecurity is not being comfortable about how you look, measuring yourself up most of the time with someone else. Social insecurity is how an individual interacts with others, feeling they’re not worthy.
Insecurity is the feeling of not being good enough or inadequate, the perfect recipe for an unhappy life. Everyone goes through insecurity from time to time. Still, if this becomes severe and overpowering, it can blind an individual from everything else happening and make them focus solely on the negativities.
Learning to let go of your insecurity is to love yourself more. It would be best if you accepted who and what you are, listened to, and respected what your body and mind are telling you. Because becoming the best version of yourself is taking your every being, including all your strengths, weaknesses, and human desire.
Live Fully and Freely
Overcoming these “weeds” in life is not easy and not an overnight process. Becoming who you are and who you are meant to require time, effort, determination, and willpower to see it through to the end.
Once you become the best version of yourself, all the hard work will be worthwhile after seeing the fruitful abundance of your effort.
