What is your book all about?
From the Root to the Fruit: Rising Above Adversities is a memoir that documents my journey from nothing to something, struggles to triumphs. It highlights the fact that one’s adversities do not have to be his or her doom, but can be used as steppingstones to discover greater purpose and fulfillment in life. This book promises to take readers from a place of complacency to fulfilling their God- given purposes as well as push them beyond their ordinary limits.
What inspired you to write the book?
I was inspired to write this book for more than one reasons:
1. I want to leave a legacy for my offspring, so that they can use my hardship as reference point to appreciate what they have in life and take nothing for granted.
2. I wrote this book because I want to share my struggles with single parent mothers, high schoolers facing peer pressure, poverty-stricken youth, college students experiencing financial struggles and the average man trying to make ends meet. I want them to know that they are not alone and it’s possible to rise above their adversities because I have done so triumphantly amidst my endless unfavourable circumstances. Additionally, I was intentional in sharing the message that there is ‘power in your pain’ and hope in your despair.
What do you hope readers could get out from your book?
1.Readers will be inspired to push beyond their limits to achieve their goals.
2.They will learn how they can monetize their adversities.
3.They will develop an appreciation for their circumstances, knowing that they can use them as steppingstones to reach their destination.
4. My readers will also learn that they are not “defined by their past but can use it to refine and define a definition of their future.”
5. One’s experiences can positively shape the individual he or she hopes to become.
6. Disappointments and degrading encounters should not dissuade one from achieving his or her dreams.
7. Our society tends to focus on the product, yet fail to highlight the process that leads to the end product.
8. Where you are from or your start doesn’t have to interfere with where you want to go in life.
9. This book promises to take readers from a place of complacency to purpose- driven as well as motivate them to go beyond the ordinary limit.
What are your future goals/plans for the book?
My future goal is for this book is for it to reach in the hands of the right people and that it will be an inspiration to single parents and poverty-stricken youth across the globe.
