Book 1 of the Nature’s Fury series
What if Mother Nature finally tired of human destruction and fought back? That’s the premise my speculative fiction series explores. The Nature’s Fury series begins with Darkness Falls, as teens Quinn and Riley set off on a family vacation with their parents to Rehoboth Beach, Del.
When a massive earthquake devastates the East Coast, they’re left stranded alone, a hundred miles from home with no phones, no car and no money. Their only choice is to face Mother Nature’s evolving fury, as well as the species that pushed her past the breaking point.

The environment has always been important to me and in recent years, I’ve grown more and more concerned with how people treat it.
I worry about how much future generations will suffer for actions people take, or don’t take, now. Nature was the inspiration for this book because I decided to pour all of my frustration over human-caused environmental deterioration into words. I started to imagine what could happen if Mother Nature fought back – impacting humanity like a series of dominoes, throwing one extreme event after another at us.

throwing one extreme event after another at us. Although the story was crafted for a young adult audience, readers of all ages have shared reviews and raves about how much they enjoyed the characters and their journey. And, considering my go-to reading preference is young adult dystopian stories, yet I am well beyond the “young adult” age category, I’d like to believe that anyone from their mid-teens and older could enjoy my books.
My biggest hope is that my stories will subtly inspire readers to champion the environment.
Even if one person recycles a bit more (anything but paperbacks of my novels!), then my words have served a purpose. My goal was to avoid sounding preachy, but to instead plant seeds of awareness for the various ways that human action can help protect the environment for generations to come.
The complete series includes a free short story, Fate Collides, as well as Darkness Falls, Anguish Unfolds, Devastation Erupts, Allegiance Unravels and Hope Emerges. The series is available on major retailer websites and in Kindle Unlimited subscriptions. Although this series is complete, I am actively working on my next series, which takes place more than a hundred years into the future.
The first book, Upheaval, is set in the Divided States of America.
Disease runs rampant, fueled by deteriorating air quality. Food is engineered in laboratories because the majority of farmland has been ravaged by overuse. An overburdened energy grid hovers on the brink of collapse. The country’s been carved into three Territories. The ruling leaders ration everything—food, energy, clothing—because demand drowns supply. Citizens are declared either day dwellers or night dwellers, essentially limiting their existence and resource consumption to 12 hours each day. In addition to the published Nature’s Fury series, I have contributed three stories to the World’s Revolution climate change anthology series.
That consists of two books – Gaia Awakens and Nature Erupts.
I fill my free time with reading, writing, trying to stay healthy (Zumba, anyone?), volunteering with a local animal rescue group and spending time with my family, which includes three humans and four cats. At this point, writing is a hobby, although I hope one day to become a full-time author. Currently, I fit writing in around my day job, family activities and the usual household chores.
