What is your book all about?

Caucasian Ovtcharka, a contemporary novel, follows a young mystical woman contracted to marry a disabled heir to a multi-billion Naira estate. Despite their mutual unwillingness, they are prevailed upon, and the marriage ensues. While she seeks to escape and protect herself, his growing affection raises a heartbreaking question: is his love genuine or a means to a cruel end? The novel delves into duty, societal expectations, and personal freedom as characters navigate their complex relationship and its challenges.

Resilience in Adversity: The book shows how they navigate challenging circumstances, particularly in arranged marriages and societal pressures.

Duty vs. Personal Desire: The novel explores the conflict between fulfilling family expectations and pursuing personal freedom.

Acceptance and Understanding: It emphasizes the importance of embracing differences in relationships, marriages, and family dynamics.

Overcoming Prejudice: The story addresses overcoming biases against disabilities and societal norms.

What inspired you to write the book?

The idea for my book was inspired by a friend who bred dogs for sale. Observing dog-human interactions inspired me to further develop the concept. I initially wrote the first chapter as a short story, but due to the positive feedback, I challenged myself to expand it into a full-fledged novel.

What is your target audience for the book?

I intend to target audience through like-minded online book clubs like the Reader’s Magnet Club and others on social media. Also, fans of contemporary fiction, readers who enjoy stories that explore modern societal issues and personal dilemmas are my target audience. Readers interested in cultural narratives, arranged marriages, and romantic drama focusing on love, duty, and personal growth are my audience. Individuals interested in disability narrative, who appreciate stories that address the challenges and prejudices faced by individuals with disabilities.

What do you hope readers could get out from your book?

I hope the readers get an understanding into complex relationships and insights into the dynamics of arranged marriages and the struggles of balancing personal desires with family obligation.

I aim to convey empathy and acceptance, highlighting understanding and embracing differences, especially regarding disabilities and societal norms.

Resilience and growth are another takeaway for my reader on how characters adapt and grow through adversity, highlighting resilience and personal development which my readers should find inspiring.

Cultural and societal insight is a deeper appreciation of cultural expectations and perception, and which also informs my style of writing and the choices of words.  I hope the reader can appreciate the contextual deliberateness of it.

What are your future goals/plans for the book?

I’m promoting the book through signings, online marketing, and global festivals to ensure it receives the attention it deserves.

I’m exploring the possibility of translating the book into various languages to reach an international audience.

Seasoned educators have praised the book as a great fit for an 11th-12th grade English curriculum. In view of that, one plan for the book is to get it as an educational curriculum.
