Thomas Rembert Jr. was born on April 5, 1944, in Sumter County, South Carolina, near Oswego. He holds degrees from SC State University, Bronx Community College, and Yonkers, New York’s Empire School of Real Estate.

During the height of the Vietnam War, Thomas was drafted into the US Army. After being released, he started a 29-year career with the NYC Housing Authority. He eventually retired as the Public Housing Manager. Along the way, he worked as a tax preparer, a real estate broker, a behavioral intervention specialist, and a children’s counselor.
