Today’s author feature is about a wonderful author who is fond of writing books to tell wholesome stories to children of any age.

Elaine Vanderberg, author of “Timmy the Timid Cloud,” has a heart of pure gold. She loves telling stories to her grandchildren, and one day, she decided to write her own tales and share them with everyone. Her tales have beautiful illustrations to accompany the wholesome narration on every page.

We are excited to talk more about Elaine and what she’s all about. Let’s kick things off by getting to know more about her, her book, and the message readers can get from the author.

Who Is Elaine Vanderberg?

Elaine Vanderberg loved reading books, novels, and news as a child. But writing books was not what she expected! The beginning of it all began with a grandchild requesting a bedtime tale. She didn’t know how, but as soon as she spoke, “Chloe” appeared.

Later, after she decided to publish “Chloe,” she started to imagine a second narrative, and then another, and yet another. These stories were “Cora, an All Alone Girl,” “Timmie, the Timid Cloud,” and “Sammie-the Sad Salamander.”

Elaine Vanderberg liked fiction as a child and went through every book in the school library. She continues to be a board member of the Friends of the Darcy Library in Beulah, Michigan, and reads multiple volumes every week. She even pursued a side career as a silversmith because she has always loved supporting and contributing to the arts.

Other Works and Hobbies Elain Vanderberg Has

Elaine also makes bead bracelets, which she donates, sells, or gives away via her Frankfort Art Center (FAC). Aside from that, she has served and continues to serve on numerous boards than she would like to list. She’s even volunteered on FAC’s Auxiliary Board and gift shop center.

She has a special connection to the hospital because she spent 16 years working as a medical technologist in the city of St. Joseph, Michigan. Three kids, five grandchildren, and two great-grandsons make up Vanderberg and her spouse’s family. Furthermore, she did not make up a tale for anyone but McKenzi!

We’ve talked a lot about Elaine’s life in today’s author feature. Now, we’ll proceed to discuss the book a bit more and some of its details.

What Is “Timmy the Timid Cloud” All About?

Timmy the Timid Cloud” revolves around the people of Summerville. Everyone has been waiting all year for “Summer-Fun-Day” to arrive. The whole town is giddy and anticipating the fun times coming their way until the Big, Bad Clouds begin to roll in. Big, Bad Clouds threaten to bring bad weather unless a brave cloud decides to step in.

Timmy the Timid Cloud, along with his friends Teezey, Breezey, and Wheezey, takes the mantle and chooses to do something about the Big, Bad Clouds. “Timmy the Timid Cloud” is a segment of an ongoing series on “overcoming,” which takes a soft approach to solving issues.

What the series aspires is to impart to kids of all ages the idea that they can overcome their obstacles. Any child can rise above their situation and not allow their issues to define who they are.

What Message Can People Get From Elaine Vanderberg‘s Book?

The primary takeaway readers can get from “Timmy the Timid Cloud” is that grey clouds, a metaphor for hard times, shouldn’t ruin our day. It also shouldn’t ruin our view of ourselves. Each of us can overcome the problems and challenges that we go through. And with Timmy’s support, we can enjoy a bright and sunny day full of fun!

Here’s a short excerpt from the book:

Timmy and Breezy, Weezey, and Teezey drifted over the valley to watch the happy people down below. Laughter filled the air, and the day was a big success.
