Peter G. Justus, MD was born to Hungarian immigrant parents in New York City. He grew up in the Seattle area. He got his education from the University of Washington School of Medicine in1974. Peter Justus is a gastroenterologist by profession. He is a clinical professor of Medicine at the University of Washington. Peter’s literary journey began the day he encountered an epiphany while brushing his teeth. Peter began to reexamine his life. His musings would later become the chapters of The Pursuit of Personal Renaissance Experience: Finding Opportunities for Happiness in the Ever-Present Now. In this book, Dr. Peter Justus discussed how to find purpose and meaning in one’s life. The book inspires readers to live in the moment to truly achieve a sense of fulfillment and genuine happiness.

Peter Justus’ The Pursuit of the Personal Renaissance Experience: Finding Opportunities for Happiness in the Ever-Present Now is a self-help book that blends science and spirituality. Before Peter published the book in 2012, Justus was already has a very lucrative career as a doctor and professor. Despite Dr. Justus’ achievements, he still felt that there is something to the life he is already living. The book also reveals to readers what went through Peter Justus mind while writing the book- his realization, his inner thoughts, as well as the lessons he encountered.

“When we improve ourselves as an operator of any process, we essentially become an artist who, working with elements of his or her thoughts and actions, changes oneself in a very specific way, from a state of relative chaos to one of relative order. And we, as the controllers of these processes, experience the same sense of fulfillment that the artist experiences when he converts a block of stone into a stunning representation of a person.”

Dr. Justus also emphasizes that personal happiness is achieved when the individual works closer to his or her desired goal.

Peter Justus explains that the only way to genuinely fulfill our goals and achieve happiness is to continuously improve ourselves in and out. Justus further explains that self-improvement is more on understanding each facet of our daily activities and striving to do better in each of those aspects. Justus notes that each one of us can improve each dimension of our well-being as long as we take the time to evaluate and reexamine the nature of our work and relationships. By knowing more about ourselves and the various areas of our existence, we can redesign ways to better our performance, perspective, and disposition.
