What is Vehemence: Tree of Treason all about?
The story is of Tella. An elite agent of the Vehemence organization operating in Sweden. On paper, they do not exist. But they are very much involved with many operations behind the scenes. They take the jobs that The Swedish Security Service does not want to be involved with. They do not want to be held accountable. Thus, Vehemence takes the high-risk jobs.
Tella is framed for the murder of a Russian asset she was protecting. Now she is on the run and after an assignation attempt on her life by her own agency. She is however not the only agent caught in the crosshairs of the Vehemence agency. Her friend and mentor Albin is by her side. To make matters worse. They are both being hunted by rival faction Lex Talionis. Tella will soon find out that things are not what they seem.
What inspired you to write the book?
I was inspired by my love of the secret agent, Spy thriller, espionage genre. I grew up loving James Bond and Indiana Jones. I loved all the Steven Spielberg films when I was young. I also loved The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo and the strong female character Lisbeth Salander. I saw a documentary about a woman who died alone in an empty hole room. They concluded that she might have been a secret agent. That was all it took for me to start coming up with an amazing backstory of my own and create this amazing world that is Vehemence: Tree of Treason.
What is your target audience for your book?
I would have to say for anyone that enjoys a good spy thriller. People who enjoy movies like James Bond, Mission Impossible, The Jason Bourne films. Or who enjoys shows like Killing Eve or Homeland. People who enjoy a story with twists turns, and the unexpected. I believe I put a good amount of everything into my story.
What do you hope readers could get from your book?
I hope readers will get the sense of adventure and feel true suspense. I want them to expect the unexpected but also feel something so familiar while they read. I want them to get lost in the world of espionage and characters I enjoyed writing.
What are your future goals/plans for your book?
To see my novel be read by people across the world. We are going through dark times right now and I would like to know I brought someone a reason to be entertained and maybe shut their mind off to the outside world right now. I would also love to see it become a best seller. But that is every author’s dream, right? Maybe a Television series. I have envisioned what that would be like countless times. All in all, I just want people to say I wrote something they thoroughly enjoyed.

My name is William Thomas Brumley. I am 33 years old and currently reside in Kalamazoo Michigan. I am originally from a small town named Saint Joseph Michigan. I have lived in Indiana, Florida, and then finally found my way back to my home state and since then that is where I have stayed. I currently own and run my salon with my wife Nicole. That is what takes up most of my free time when I am not writing. I also enjoy playing video games, reading a good book, and enjoying a binge-worthy television series.
