What is my book about?
My book is about the fall from grace of Lucifer. It begins as he is still an archangel; he is the angel of light. The angel of light casts a judgmental eye upon everything that he surveys. I portray the archangels as siblings, all with different personalities and skills. Lucifer and his brother Gabriel are embattled in a court case in which mankind is on trial. I do play with the timeline of the bible in the first novel but this is a work of fiction. When things don’t go as he planned, he begins a war in heaven. Sides will be chosen by archangels and angels alike. The war drenches heaven in blood and espionage. The second book is about Lucifer and his children. The children are like nothing that the planet has ever seen. I don’t want to say too much and give away the plot in the second one. The third book is about Lucifer, his son and his grandson. The family dynamic is interesting in the third book as they all vie for power. The apocalypse begins and humanity is caught in the crossfire. The ultimate showdown between the brothers of Lucifer, now Satan and Michael, the warrior archangel brings the story to a close. I do toss an interesting twist in at the end.
What was my inspiration?
My inspiration to write this trilogy was that I was so tired of the same old same old stories. I wanted to do something different; something never before attempted in the literary world. I took well known characters and change them up a bit. I wanted to write a vampire novel when I started thinking about becoming a novelist. I thought, “Who could the first vampire be?” I began to think about the legends surrounding vampires and wanted to create the very first vampire being. I knew who I wanted it to be but how was he created? How did he end up cursed? So, I began at the beginning. The first book is basically about Lucifer and his war in heaven, book two is basically all the vampire legends coming together and book three is the apocalypse.
What is my target audience?
I wanted to target young adult to adult horror/dark fantasy fiction readers. There is some swearing in the trilogy as well as lust, sex and violence. My novels are certainly not for children or tweens. My angels are not cherubs; my vampires are not Twilight and my demons are well, demons. The vampires and demons are aggressive and dark; the archangels are aggressive and spoiled.
What do I hope readers get from my book?
Well, I am unsure what they would get from it besides a good read and a scare. I hope that my trilogy at least sticks with them and makes them think. Their actions today could be detrimental when the apocalypse comes.
What are my future plans for the book?
I am hoping that this interview with Readers Magnet will give me exposure and help me fulfill my dreams of becoming a famous author.
I would love to eventually write the screen play. I think it would make an excellent cable TV series or even a few movies. I would love for it to make the New York Times Best Seller list and have enough money that I wouldn’t have to work a regular job. I wish I could just focus on my writing and not have to worry about feeding my family and bills.
Something about me…
I wrote my first “book” at the tender age of eight. It was a gift for my dad for Father’s Day. I titled it “The Monday Monster”. This monster lives under your bed and bites your ankle on Mondays making you grumpy. I even stapled it together and illustrated it myself. 😊 I found it after he had passed away in his night stand. I had totally forgotten about it. I wrote for my high school and college newspapers. I have a bachelor degree in Psychology as well as English. I am the proud mother of two exquisite human beings that I adore. Both of my adult children are very successful. I couldn’t ask for better people to spend my life around. I am married to a wonderful, supportive man that helped me “write” the trilogy. It’s always nice to bounce ideas off of somebody. He is truly my muse. I work in an independent living retirement community as their pool manager. I love to swim, read and of course, write. I also write for a blog every month called spreadingthewritersword.com She gives me a picture and in 300-500 words I have to come up with a story. I enjoy it and it keeps my writing skills razor sharp.
