The Immortals (The HorrorVerse) by G.E. Howard

“The Immortals,” is the first in a twelve book series titled, “The HorrorVerse.”

What is your book all about?

It follows the immortals, who have walked among us for six thousand years. They influence human nature and have altered historical events to their will. As children of the gods, they possess inhuman strength, speed, and stamina. Although their immortality has begun to falter, many of them are pondering the meaning of their existence.

In the year 2016, the eldest son of the god of War, Victor, is running for president. His greatest tool is using humanity’s inherent nature against them. The son of Peace is desperate to minimize the damage done by his kind, while those who remain stand broken or idly content. The immortal’s legacy will be seen and the consequences of their actions will be realized. Can any one of them stop Victor from handing over the world to his father?

What inspired you to write the book?

This specific book was inspired by actual events of the 2016 election. The divide of the American people was so baffling to me that I played with the idea that someone or something was single handedly responsible for it. As if it were all part of a master plan. From there, I was fascinated with the idea that significant people from politicians, celebrities, and the wealthy, had been walking the earth for centuries, if not thousands of years.

What is your target audience for the book?

My target audience includes those who enjoy horror, supernatural, and fantasy books that help you think. Intricate stories with real life ideas and elements are some of my favorites and I want to share that passion with as many people as possible. For adults of all ages, I hope to reach as many age groups as possible. With different protagonists with various backgrounds, it truly is for a larger audience.

What do you hope readers could get out from your book?

I hope that my readers can find themselves thinking about real world ideas and concepts. Politics, culture, and personal beliefs are all woven into the HorrorVerse, leaving the reader curious. Personally, the stories that leave one thinking about it for days after, are my favorite. In the Immortals, and the books that follow, I have done my best to replicate such a feeling. If my readers find themselves thinking about things, as much as they were entertained, then I have done my duty as an author.

What are your future goals/plans for the book?

All future plans with the Immortals is to continue the HorrorVerse, in hopes that all twelve books can reach my audience and the entire story can unfold and be realized. The Immortals only sets up one part of the full story’s history, settings, and characters. There are many more pieces to the puzzle, creating a world full of supernatural possibilities that mimic many aspects of both real life and entertainment. In that endeavor, my plan is for the Immortals to reach as many readers as possible.

Something more about yourself?

I have been writing since I was in the fifth grade, writing my first short novel of about fifty pages. I also write poetry, music, short stories, and other novels. I narrate my own short stories and miniseries on my YouTube channel under the same pen name, G.E. Howard. Creating stories is one of my greatest passions and easily the longest running. Born and raised in Kansas, I would say that I have been writing for twenty years now. In my own personal study at home, that is where all of the magic happens.

A personal thanks goes out to Pauline Adams. She reached out to me on my Facebook author page, seeking to give me the opportunity to join Authors’ Lounge. I am beyond excited and grateful for the opportunity and plan to make the most of it. I look forward to being a part of a growing community for authors everywhere.
