Interview about my book the Green Girl and the serum
What is your book all about?
My book the Green Girl and the Serum is the first in a series of six science fiction books which tells the story of Stacey, her daughters and their children cursed with a genetic mutation which grants them superhuman powers and abilities. This starts with Stacey Roberts, a young woman who was injected with a serum by the British government which transformed her into the Green Girl.
She escaped and made her way to Florida USA where she meets Haven, a superhuman faction led by her boyfriend Ben Fox. Unknown to her she is forced into a war between Haven and another faction of super humans known as the Outcasts lead by Surge, a figure from Ben’s past. Together with Ben, she defeats him, and his Outcasts and the now isolated Stacey finds herself drawn into a battle over her humanity and her powers.
Follow the adventures of Stacey Roberts, an average young woman who has dreams of the future. That is, until she is injected with a serum transforming her into the Green Girl to be used in warfare by the British Military. She escapes and lives her life on the run, and many years later she is reunited with Ben Fox who, like her, has been injected with the serum.
After a long battle with the military, with the help of Ben and his Mega Human Haven, Stacey finds herself at odds with another Mega Human group known as the Outcasts led by Surge, a figure from Ben’s past who has the intention of using the serum to create an army of Mega Humans to help him and his faction take control over the world. Is Stacey up for this task and what does her father have to do with the serum and its origin?
What inspired you to write the book?
I was inspired to write this book and it’s series after having a conversation with a then ex-girlfriend of mine about why there are no British Superheroines in comic books and books? After this conversation she gave me the task of writing my own superheroine which I named after her.
What is your target audience for the book?
My main target audience for this book series are Young Adult readers aged between fifteen to eighteen years of age. However, adult can enjoy this also.
What do you hope readers could get out from your book?
With this I am hoping that my readers will get enjoyment from reading my first book and also hoping to read the rest of the books in my green girl series.
The Green Girl and the Serum is a Young Adult novel which is the first part in a series of six books a must read for anyone who enjoys comic books and superheroes, teenagers and adults alike. Readers who like and enjoy Marvel, DC as well as the superhero genre will love my work as it is fresh and offers an original plot spanning three generations of the same family with many twists and turns
What are your future goals/plans for the book?
I am currently looking for representation for the rest of my books in my Green Girl series either from an agent or a top traditional publishing house so far I have had seventeen rejections however I am not letting this stop me from achieving my goals.
And something more about yourself.
I am an avid reader and a film lover my favourite books to read are Science fiction, fantasy and Young adult novels. Some of my favourite authors are Ray Bradbury, Neil Gailman, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis Arthur C Clark. I loved watching films and am a die hard Hobbit Lord of the Rings fan, I loved all six of the original Star Wars films and also loved M Night Shyamalan especially his Unbreakable trilogy which was the one of the main inspirations for my green girl series. I also had a love of computer games the likes of which were Halo.
The Legend of Zelda and the Metal Gear Solid series which like the Unbreakable series was an inspiration for my Green Girl series. Currently besides looking for representation for the rest of the books in my Green Girl series I am also writing a new series of Mega Human books this time focusing on a new character.
I have two NVQ qualifications under my belt, one is a Business Administration Level Two and the other is a Children’s leaning and Development Level two. Apart from these I have studied CLAT word Level One, as well as taking courses in Adult Literacy Level Two and more recently a creative writing course Level one. My love of writing came to me in 2017 when I decided to start writing fan fiction.
I quickly grew bored of this and in 2019 after a relationship breakdown I decided to write my first two Green Girl books which both took me three months to complete. I then started work the following year on my next two books in my series and I am currently writing books five and six. I am also a member of Restoke a creativity theater and performance charity based in Fenton Stoke on Trent who are currently working together with the National Theater London with the first episode of a stage production of the Odyssey. For this production I have written some material which is going to be used in the play which are just a few lines of dialogue.

I am impressed with Sean’s writing. He makes the characters vivid, and I can easily follow the plot., . which I love. His unique sense of humor and knowledge of young people in outrageous situations are said so well.
