What is your book all about?

In the beginning, I would like to thank, Author’s Lounge, for this opportunity.

My book is called The Brave Dog and the Jealous Cat it is a picture storybook for children it is about  Robina young schoolboy who is excited to see the different dogs when his class goes on a field trip to the animal shelter. When he arrives at the animal shelter, he meets Max, an adorable dog who has recently lost his previous owner. Robin falls in love with Max right away and decides to adopt him. He takes Max home after obtaining permission from his mother.

When they arrive at his home, Robin introduces Max to his cat, Charlie. Charlie is displeased with the newcomer and immediately begins plotting against him. Charlie grows increasingly jealous of Max as time passes. He knows Robin adores Max more. So he starts attempting to kick Max out of the house whenever possible.

Robin’s mother intervenes and tries to stop them from fighting. Find out what happens to Max and Charlie and if they will ever get along!

What inspired you to write the book?

My love for children and animals, I got five cats and I love to teach kids through animals. Cats and dogs are very sensitive, caring, and loving creatures and they have their own personalities which is fun and at the same time and suitable to give examples to children. 

What is your target audience for the book?

Children who are around three to eight years old and their parents who enjoy picture story books and bedtime stories. 

What do you hope readers could get out from your book?

I would like Parents and children to enjoy reading the book, and hope that it makes it easier for parents to teach kids about the importance of family and that everyone got a different role and is special in a different way so no need to be jealous of each other esp. Among siblings. 

What are your future goals/plans for the book?

The Brave Dog and the Jealous Cat is part 2 of Charlie the cat adventures series, so my plans are to continue writing separate stories using the same characters like Charlie, Max, and Robin.

My name is Nada Philippe I am a writer and a volunteer in animal rescue and an orphanage. And I have experience working with children. Also, I have always wanted to write and tell stories, so I began to do so. Using simple illustrations to keep the children entertained while writing in a simple and exciting language that keeps the children interested and wanting to know more about the story.
