What is your book all about?
Blonde, handsome, intelligent son of an international powerful tycoon, Sebastian led a carefree life of indulgence. Spoilt, arrogant, confident, life flowed effortlessly for him. Indulging in fashion, fine dining, port, and entertainment, he attracted the high society crowd. He mixed with the influential movers and shakers enjoying life to the full. Girls were attracted to him wherever he went, but he enjoyed being single and free. Many tried to hang around him for his looks and prosperity. Sebastian avoided commitment choosing to live for the moment.
From Privilege to Perseverance: Sebastian’s Journey of Survival and Self-Discovery
In his third year at Oxford University Sebastian’s life changed dramatically. His powerful father went bankrupt after juggling finances during the Covid pandemic. This meant that suddenly Sebastian was no longer a rich golden boy. Faced with having to earn a living, learn how to handle domestic affairs, plus try to fend for himself was a shock. All his assets were frozen together with the home and facilities her had taken for granted. Stacking shelves in a supermarket was his first employment where he learnt the struggle of making ends meet. Uncertain whether he could complete his degree, Sebastian looked for alternative offers to make a living.
How did he rise from oblivion to stardom, from anonymity to fame? Did he reconcile with his family? Could he ever revert to his former lifestyle? When his Finance and Economic degree failed to interest him, how did he become engrossed in Artificial Intelligence? Did he manage to follow his dreams and aspirations? Does anybody have it all? Would he ever be taken seriously as an intelligent capable man, not just a decorative pinup? Would his fascination with AI dominate his future career?
Sebastian’s mother insisted on good grooming suited to all occasions, implying that if he looked good, he would feel good. Did her advice pay off?
What inspired you to write the book?
With so many household names and businesses closing down after the pandemic and the introduction of online shopping, I thought it would be interesting to write a rag to riches story in reverse. What if somebody who had everything lost it all? How would they cope?
What is your target audience for the book?
I don’t target any audience but think it will suit anyone who enjoys a good read to get away from the doom and gloom of the latest news and headlines. It is also interesting to read about how the other half live in high society and celebrity media.
What do you hope readers could get out from your book?
A bit of escapism and drama to brighten up every day mundane reality.
What are your future goals/plans for the book?
I am showcasing the book here in the hope of making it known to a wider audience.
Something more about yourself
My initial career was as a junior reporter on a local paper but I did not become an author until I retired. I write about contemporary fiction based on story lines within the headlines. My books include stories about identity theft, trafficking, the Covid pandemic, how an entrepreneur came from rags to riches, a ghost story, a mixed family of varied relationships, a paradise island where everything seemed perfect, artificial intelligence, UFOs, cloning, clairvoyance etc. A new one will soon appear entitled Scam Wars. I live in England close to my family and write most days which keeps me out of mischief.
