Author Alan V. Goldman has shown how easy it can be to support advocacy. In today’s society, fighting for a cause doesn’t have to be taken to the streets. A simple pen and paper can help do the work.

Regardless of traits or characteristics, every person has equal rights to live a peaceful and content life. A life wherein they can reach their dreams and do whatever they’re passionate about. The moment a person is born, he instantly deserves this quality and happy life.

However, despite these rights being universal, inherent, and applicable to all, not everyone can enjoy them today. More and more people have been stripped of these rights. They have been shunned, and their voices were stolen. The rights supposedly free for all have become a privilege. They’ve become something only a few, commonly those belonging to the upper hierarchy, can freely enjoy.

But fortunately, the rest of the world doesn’t have to stand aside and watch. Today, anyone can have a voice and fight for a cause they believe is right. With technological and societal advancements, anyone can be involved and advocate for anything they wish to be part of.

Here are ways to show support and fight for an opinion that’s been disregarded and bruised for the disadvantage of others.

Speak Up

With the numerous platforms the public can easily access, it has become much quicker for anyone to start a conversation. If they wish the collective to ponder about and consider something, they can lean on these platforms to amplify their thoughts.

For information to spread, it must first start with a single voice. Information can have a significant impact on communities, especially on those that are uneducated about them.

The great thing about these platforms is that they can also be safe grounds for discussion or discourse. Anyone can share their own opinions and extend the available information. If there exists any misinformation regarding the issue, anyone can express disagreement and uncover the truth.

Literature

A massive portion of the population is interested in literature. Hence, writing about these advocacies in this manner will attract the interest and attention of more audiences. Not only is a person doing something he’s passionate about. He’s also sharing a message he’s sincere about.

A perfect example is Alan V. Goldman, an author, and law practitioner for many years. Aside from these ventures, he is also an avid fan of mountaineering. Combining these interests, he intends to write, conveying a message he’s passionate about while climbing the tallest peaks.

Throughout his journey, he associates every mountain he’s ever climbed with social and moral issues. Reflecting on each step and success, he writes poetry as a mountain climber to raise awareness of these issues. His pieces are the best balance between an adventurous perspective and informational and lesson-filled poetry.

Volunteer or Donate

It’s easy to believe that moving alone isn’t going to leave a significant impact. This is why most people hesitate to share their opinions or raise their advocacies. However, some organizations work on this matter.

People only need to look into the appropriate organizations for the advocacies they’re fighting for. There is also a need to ensure these groups’ legitimacy by checking proofs of activities for these causes.

If people are reassured, they may volunteer to help their target communities or donate to these people. While these groups will be mostly getting monetary benefits, they are essential in ensuring the affected people are provided the help and assistance they need.

Listen

There’s no better way to show one support than by listening to their stories. It’s incredibly satisfying and pleasing knowing that someone is there to listen to someone’s story. Even if there’s no other action being done, listening and understanding alone can be a powerful move.

It’s significant to let these victims know they are seen and their stories and feelings are heard. In a fast-paced world, dedicate some time to listen to these stories and reassure these people that their emotions are valid.

This doesn’t even have to be a one-day thing. People can stay connected with these victims. This can help reassure them that they have someone willing to remain in their lives and listen to their woes. Someone’s presence is a healing-enough factor.
