Space Magpie: A Tale of Corporate Secrets and High-Stakes Espionage

My first novel is called Space Magpie and the following is a description of the story. A young management accountant, Joshua joins a UK-based software company that is a world leader in Artificial Intelligence software. Joshua soon discovers the company has huge cash balances far larger than it should have for a business its size.

He discovers that his predecessor died in mysterious circumstances after making inquiries about the company’s large cash balances. He later discovers that the company is selling top secret software to the Chinese government. Which can be used to access international bank accounts, communications satellites, and satellite weapons.

Espionage and Intrigue: Investigations, Escapes, and Global Conflict in Space Magpie

The National Crime Agency contacted him as they received a tip-off from someone who helped Joshua investigate several company employees and a Chinese customer. Soon afterward, a hit-and-run accident kills the man who provided the tip-off. Two company directors fly to Singapore to meet the Chinese buyers to sell the illegal software and are followed by a team of MI6 agents who want to intercept the sale. One director escapes and ends up being pursued halfway around the world.

The Chinese use the software with varying degrees of success to try and help North Korea, their allies. Also to attack India, their enemies. Space Magpie controls satellite weapons systems, which is why the software has that name.

Global High-Tech Espionage: A Race Against Time to Prevent Catastrophe

The story tracks global events as the software is sold, used, and a military target is destroyed. Will MI6 succeed in stopping the Chinese, or will the Chinese achieve their goals and deliver severe blows to the imperialist West? The action moves around the world and involves the CIA and US government in a tale of modern-day high-tech espionage.

Global Espionage and Personal Inspiration: The Genesis of Space Magpie

Benjamin Franklin once said, “Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing”.

For many years I considered writing a novel and once I retired I found time to achieve that aim. As a management accountant in a wide range of organisations, I came across fraud and illegal activities several times and had to deal with them head-on. This provided some useful ideas for my novel Space Magpie.

Captivating Reads for All Ages: From Page-Turner to Potential Blockbuster

My target audience is young adults and upwards, people who enjoy fast-moving storylines. I hope that my readers will find the book to be something they find hard to put down and holds their interest throughout. In my wildest dreams I would love to see the book made into a major feature film. But first of all, I need to bring it to the attention of a wider audience.
