ABOUT THE BOOK

“Souvenirs Of Life” is a poetry book harbouring 60 assorted poems, spanning across strata of life, and inspired by daily life experiences. The tilt of the book is mostly philosophical, with simple style and diction. However, the value-laden contents of the book portrays the author as a moral freak who is obsessed with the clamor for the restoration of societal value, and will not hesitate to wield his pen in pushing for the attainment of this noble idea.

WHAT SPURRED ME TO ACTION

In a world where Science is fast subsuming philosophy, it leaves a large vacuum in poetic philosophy. It’s proverbial that science without conscience (philosophy) is but a ruin of the soul. Therefore, the daily happenings around us are full of issues capable of pricking the conscience of active poets.

MESSAGE TO READERS

Everybody must search his/her conscience to find the place of philosophy.

So the messages are many just as the poems are. These range from the subjects of moral, querry, to that of consolation, motivation, encomiums, etc… One only needs to go through the table of contents to find the poem that strikes his/her ego.

TARGET AUDIENCE

My target is to reach primarily academicians, people in authority and practicing poets who have philosophical leanings.

FUTURE PLAN/GOAL FOR THE BOOK

My ultimate plan for the book is to get it across the desks and shelves of academicians and decision makers to be used as a standard for moral guide. In addition, I yearn for the book to be a companion to philosophically oriented poets who toe the same line of thought and are willing to employ it as a tool for postulation and assertion to achieve social correctness.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Mr. Victor Haggai Kolongs hails from Kaltungo LGA of Gombe State Nigeria. He holds a BSc International Studies from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria-Nigeria. In addition, he is an academician who works in private High School. However, his meditative mood and penchant for scholarly postulation led him to literature. The author is married with two kids. He loves reading, watching news and traveling. Souvenirs of Life is his début publication.
