Almost a year ago, we introduced our audience to the inspiring works of Mr. Raymond Quattlebaum. His poetry about faith, spirituality, love, and devotion has opened our eyes to the beauty of God’s grace and Life. The quality of his words is something that young poets can aspire to. Devotion poetry has evolved over the years, and Raymond Quattlebaum’s works of devotion are proof that not all devotion poetry is somber. His are filled with passion, color, and movement. Poetry in Motion and The Color of Love by Raymond Quattlebaum both speak of praise, gratefulness, and sincerity. Today, we will celebrate the love, faith, and poetry of Quattlebaum by revisiting his masterpieces.
Faith and Love through Poetry
Raymond Quattlebaum is known for his poetry that celebrates love and faith in God. His interest in writing poetry and prose began early in school. In third grade, Raymond started writing beautiful poetry, which did not escape his teacher’s attention. He encouraged the young man to continue his passion for the written word. Many years later, that young man would publish his first book, a superb collection of fine poetry about Life, its workings, and how God is present in all these. Poetry in Motion (published in 2009) would go on to capture the essential themes of Life- our existence, the journey with God and all His creation, and the great narrative arc that we all share and celebrate.
“So here it is, the book called Poetry In Motion. Poetry is Life in Motion, Motion is the Poetry of Life, spinning at a vibration so magnificent, a vision for the world to see. Here, at last, is a book, the Chapters of Poetry In Motion, as we express ourselves through Life. If a picture is worth a thousand words, what can you say for a mental visualization? Yes, Life is a stage, and we all play a part, but what part do you play in the great scheme of Life? As we know, to be a part, you must play a part in the great circle of Life and beauty. This book is designed to bring to the reader life in the passage as we know it, the miracle of who we are, Poetry In Motion Life in the Presence of God”
Almost ten years later, Mr. Quattlebaum would delight his readers with another collection of praise poetry. The Color of Love was released in 2018. This time, Raymond presents to us thirty-eight new masterpieces that talk about gratefulness to Life’s abundance of harmony, serenity, and beauty. In his second book, Raymond imparts his ideas on a number of social issues such as injustice and inequality. This is proof that Raymond Quattlebaum enriches his readers’ spirituality and attempts to educate them through his words. In the end, Raymond Quattlebaum reminds us only through God and His good grace can we achieve the strength, wisdom, and determination to pursue a life worth living.
“Life is the essence of who we are! We must PUSH! Because in Life you never know how far you can go until you PUSH! Life is a constant PUSH!!! We all must PUSH! Because movement is the essence of Life. My book will inspire the reader to read more as you turn the pages inspired about what is coming next. My book talks about the chapters of Life in its unique form. The coloration in Life is Poetry In Motion. You will understand poetry from another point of view, the author. A lot of times in Life it’s not what you read, it’s how good the book is you have read, where it takes you. How did it make you feel, did you get anything from it.”
Both masterpieces from Raymond Quattlebaum invite readers to look at Life with a refreshing perspective. Amidst all this chaos and uncertainty, all we have to do is seek God’s wisdom and grace. More often than not, He sends people who inspire us to embrace His blessings. The Color of Love and Poetry in Motion reminds us to do so. That said, we are looking forward to another masterpiece Mr. Raymond Quattlebaum will share with us in the future.
