Lollypop Stew

Bringing Magic to Young Minds Through Storytelling

Hi! My name is Christine Bunn, and I’m an internationally published children’s picture book author. My titles include Lollypop Stew, Do You Know You Have a Chicken on Your Head?, and the upcoming Fredrick Frog. Writing stories that spark joy, inspire creativity, and open up magical worlds for young readers is my passion and life’s work. I live in beautiful Brisbane, Australia, with my husband Gavin, our three children, and our adorable dog, Cuddles. Being a stay-at-home mum while pursuing my writing dreams has been a wonderful journey. I’ve spent the past 15 years crafting stories that ignite children’s minds. Through whimsical imagery and vivid adventures, tapping into the boundless creativity and mischief that define childhood.

Bringing Lollypop Stew to Life with Young Readers

My first published book, Lollypop Stew, holds a special place in my heart. It’s a sweet, rhyming tale that takes readers on a cooking adventure with two lovable characters, Ella and Isaac. I still remember the excitement of seeing my work in print for the first time, and Lollypop Stew continues to bring me so much joy. It’s especially delightful to read it with young audiences at book events, where I actually make “Lollypop Stew” with the children. Watching little faces light up as they add imaginary ingredients to the pot is truly magical. It brings the story to life in such a fun, tangible way and sparks so much joy and laughter.

Inspiring Teamwork and Creativity Through Playful Storytelling

Making “Lollypop Stew” with children not only entertains them but also encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity. The story fosters a sense of community and joy, with a healthy dose of mischief thrown in! It’s every child’s dream to play with make-believe recipes, and the book encourages readers to embrace a little silliness and creativity as they imagine all the zany ingredients they could add.

Capturing Laughter and Adventure in Every Page

My second book, Do You Know You Have a Chicken on Your Head? Is another story full of laughter and surprises. It’s a lighthearted tale about a Kindy class visiting an animal farm, and it has a quirky twist that keeps readers laughing from start to finish. Kids love getting to meet all the adorable animals along the way, and I find this story especially popular for the laughs it brings to storytime. There’s a sort of gentle chaos in this book that perfectly captures the essence of an animal farm adventure—a bit messy, a bit wild, and full of unexpected moments.

Excited for the Grand Finale of the “Ella” Series

The journey of writing children’s books has been incredible, and I am always eager to create new stories. This year, I’m thrilled to announce the upcoming release of Fredrick Frog, which will be the third and final book in the “Ella” series. Fredrick Frog holds a special place in my heart, as it completes the journey I started with Lollypop Stew. I can’t wait to share this story with readers, especially since I know it will make a wonderful Christmas gift for children who already love Ella and her adventurous spirit.

Fostering Joy, Imagination, and Family Connections Through Storytelling

At the heart of my books, my biggest wish is for children and parents to find joy and inspiration in these tales. I hope my magical worlds inspire young minds to explore their imaginations and enjoy the fun of creating something new. Writing children’s books is my way of giving back some of the magic that shaped my own childhood. I’m always grateful for the chance to bring a little more wonder into the world. I truly believe that reading together as a family fosters strong connections and a lifelong love for stories.
