Invested in me is a positive affirmations book intentionally written for young girls ages 1-7, written in simplistic form so that you, the reader, can have a meaningful conversation with the child.
Life Lessons: Advice for a Kid Like Me is a principles and values based book written intentionally for young boys ages 1-10. This book is also written in such a way that it invites dialogue between the reader and the listener. Both books have beautiful illustrations depicting real life where children can relate the words not only to the book but to their everyday lives. What inspired me to write these books is having a young child myself.
When entering into big box chain retailers I found a void in the offering that was beneficial to the growth and development in my child. So I decided I would create books that would fill that void.
As stated above I wrote each book for a specific audience but I think we all can agree that affirmations, principles and values are important to anyone at any stage in life. This was another objective of mine. To write a book that both the adult and child can benefit from.
Now that obvious question here is how does the adult learn and grow from reading these books.This happens through repetition, rope memory and continuously explaining the affirmation, principle and value to the child. Studies show that when one is called to recall a thought it becomes real to them, even if it never really happened. And that’s what I expect readers to get from reading these books, and my future books for that matter.
Ultimately I’d love for the word to reach far and wide through word of mouth and start being stocked on shelves everywhere. But until then, I’ll do my part and make sure they are available for people to see and purchase.
