Greetings! In starting this blog, I would l would like to state my reasons for doing so. As you’ve probably learned from what you’ve already heard of me, I’m all about helping others come closer to Christ. My intent is to use the scriptures to help me make my points. Having been raised in the Mormon church, I have become very familiar with the Book of Mormon. Those who do not understand exactly what it is, let me give you an explanation. At the time the Babylonians were planning to destroy Jerusalem, God commanded a Jew by the name of Lehi to flee the country with his family – and one other family. They lived in the wilderness for several years and with God’s guidance, they built a ship and sailed to America. They were from the tribe of Joseph, the one sold into Egypt – both Ephraim and Manasseh. It is about God’s dealings with that line of the house of Israel. In Ezekiel 37:15-17 we learn that: The word of the Lord came again to me saying, more over, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it. For Judah and for the children of Israel and his companions; (this of course is the Bible) then take another stick and write upon it, for Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, (Book of Mormon) and for all the house of Israel and his companions; And they shall become one in thine hand.

The Book of Mormon (the record of the people living on this continent) was translated by the gift and power of God from gold plates on which the people of Nephi (Lehi’s son) kept their records. This was for the express purpose of instructing the people still living on the earth in these, the last days of the calamities that are to come upon the earth in these last days, to learn of Him, Jesus Christ and how to avoid being destroyed at His Second Coming. This is the most correct book of scripture in existence because is has not gone through anyone except the Prophet Joseph Smith Jr., who is the founder of the Mormon church, or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was given, through revelation, the restored gospel. However, that church today is a far cry from the church Joseph founded. There have been many changes and God does not and cannot change. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. I’ve been excommunicated from the Mormon church because I refused to deny certain scriptures which the “the Brethren” do not accept. It is my intent to use Book of Mormon scriptures in my blog as they are very clear on just about any gospel subject.

Now I would like to give you a bit of information that was given in a General Conference of the Church in October of 1988. It is taken from a talk given by Ezra Taft Benson, who was then the president of the church. He should be familiar to some of you as he was the Secretary of Agriculture under President Eisenhower. This article was published in the Salt Lake Tribune at that time.

Title of Article: LDS Prophet Says Global Force Is Spreading Evil. Ezra Taft Benson, frail and smiling, warned of a secret combination increasing its evil influence over America, and said joy comes by obedience to gospel laws found in the Mormon church. He said: “I testify that wickedness is rapidly expanding in every segment of our society. It is more highly organized, more cleverly disguised, and more powerfully promoted than ever before. Secret combinations lusting for power, gain and glory are flourishing. A secret combination that seeks to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries is increasing in its evil influence and over America and the entire world. I testify that as the forces of evil increase under Lucifer’s leadership, and as good increases under the leadership of Jesus, there will be growing battles between the two until the final confrontation. As issues become clearer and more obvious, all mankind will be required to align themselves either for the kingdom of God or for the kingdom of the devil. As these conflicts rage either secretly or openly, the righteous will be tested. God’s wrath will soon shake the nations of the earth and will be poured out without measure. But God will provide strength for the righteous and the means of escape and eventually and finally the truth will prevail”

How the world has changed since 1988. It has become increasingly wicked. The social media has had a great influence both for good and for bad on the world. There is so much temptation out there for the young. Because of the conspiracies plaguing us, the moral foundation of our nation and other nations have crumbled. It is no longer wrong in many women’s minds to kill their unborn babies. It is no longer wrong to live together without marrying. Why buy a cow when you can get the milk free? Some men are no longer willing to take on the responsibility of a wife and children….which, by the way is one of the greatest blessing anyone can have providing they are prepared to make that sacrifice. There is so much more to say, but that can wait.

This pretty well sums up the conditions we’re experiencing today. What I hope to accomplish is to share educational and spiritual help, that those that are ready and willing, will be strengthed and helped. It’s wonderful that Reader’s Magnet and Author’s Lounge affords authors the opportunity to let us do what we can to help those seeking knowledge and encouragement.

Hopefully, we will become good friends and lend one another our views and strenghs. The Author’s Lounge people have been so very helpful. I hate to admit it, but here I am going on 82 and all this is a new experience for me. I will tell you more about myself in later blogs. So long for now.
