JESUS CHRIST: SAVIOR, JUDGE & KING OF THE WORLD
– MOTIVATION FOR WRITING
Jesus Christ: Savior, Judge & King of the World is my first published book subsequent to unpublished degree theses/dissertations. In the process of collecting data for writing a different title for the purpose of addressing my discomfort concerning misinterpretation of Ephesians 5:21-22 and messages I often heard people preach from that passage, there arose ideas and the need for writing about the personality and works of Jesus Christ, especially as Judge and King of the whole world.
Jesus Christ: Savior, Judge & King of the World conveys the message that Jesus Christ is the only One that saves all people that believe in Him and will condemn all that reject and persecute Him; He is the One to judge all persons that have lived, and will ever live on this earth, and He will reign as King over all the earth. The book also considers the sinfulness of mankind from his fall through the coming of the Savior, noting that sin is not the exclusive reserve of any particular people but of the whole of mankind all over the world – no exception. And the salvation that the gracious almighty God offers mankind through Jesus Christ is also to not just a few, but all who believe in Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is greater than what people say.” Some people only knew Jesus Christ as the son of Joseph the carpenter of Nazareth. Some others knew Him just as one of the rabbis (teachers) in and around Galilee. Many people believed then, as many do these days, that Jesus Christ was a prophet, and some others a priest. Some religionists say He was a great Master. They are all right. But Jesus Christ was, and is more than any of all these titles, each standing alone. The Jews rejected Him as their king, but He was crucified and He died “The King of the Jews” (John 19:19-22).
Jesus did the work of prophet, did and does the work of High Priest (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 12:2; 7:24-26). He is the only Savior and Redeemer of mankind, and the only Mediator between God and men (1 Timothy 2:5). He will soon return to earth to reign as King over the whole world – both people who accept Him as their King and those that reject(ed) Him. Jesus Christ, the Jews’ expected Messiah is the answer to all the world’s problems of sin and sin’s penalty, and peace.
Jesus Christ is also going to judge the whole world – the living and the dead. Everyone will ultimately bow their knees before Him and confess that He is Lord (Philippians 2:9-11).
People need to know these things and put their trust in Him so that when He comes back as He and the prophets said, they shall reign with Him and be judged for rewards rather than for condemnation to eternal punishment in hell.
Jesus Christ: Savior, Judge & King of the World is targeted at anyone and everyone that can read – the scholarly, not-so-scholarly, inquisitive-minded, persons. It should whet the appetite of the inquisitive minded, causing them to conduct further researches into numerous other aspects of the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ – in effect, it is good for students of Christology.
