It is an honor to be chosen by Author’s Lounge to tell you all about my book, Inspiration: My Truly Inspired Life.
Inspiration for short, is a poetry book I wrote a few years after my grandfather’s passing. It is about Love, loss, remembrance and more.
A lot of the poems are about him and other family members that are no longer presently in my life for the same reasons. They were positive role models and at the time I was struggling and I still am about eleven years later.
There are times when I will cry, birthdays, anniversaries etc, they say in time you move on. I do not believe that but in time I do believe it gets easier.
This book of poetry is a book that’s good for I’d say middle school aged students and higher. If you need to be inspired this book is for you. If you are dealing with loss or grief, this book is for you. If you like books with powerful, and great messages this is a good book for you. Finally, if you want to prepare your child for the present or the future this book is for you as it is for them.
There are also random poems thrown in there that are written very well and if you want a piece of my first book ever published and the history I believe it will have because those poems are all no longer on a computer (Maybe some flash drives, somewhere but I can’t access them I do not think) this is for you.
I plan on writing more books, in fact I am currently trying to edit a book called Unicorn Blood which is a Novella for young adults maybe 14+ and adults as well. It talks about equality and how one person has the power to influence others for both the positive and negative but with fun stuff like mortals witches and of course a new take on unicorns.
Another side project I am working on is a poetry book called, Underneath The Apple Tree. I wrote another story that is in the process of editing so we’ll see how that goes…
My hope and plans for this book though is to inspire everyone, and help them. I really hope everyone enjoys it that decides to buy a copy. It is self published on amazon.com
It’s hard to find because I used a common title name so if you should want to buy my book which would be super awesome just type in Inspiration by Stacy Zappala. I did it and it was on the first page.
My goal is to keep self publishing but it all depends on my audience. Eventually I would also like to publish a book for children tackling the subject of mental illness in a way children can understand without going too much into it. I would like to teach everyone to be kind to one another because just because someone’s a little different that does not make them less of a person.
I did not always know I wanted to be a writer. It would be a lie to say I was always as good at writing as I think I am. It took practice, lots of it.
I was very determined though, out of nowhere. It was if as fate decided this was what I was meant to do. After being bored at my brother’s baseball game as a kid instead of drawing I thought,
“What if I wrote something?”
My writing took off from there. That was in middle school. I believe anybody can write if you work hard enough and put your mind to it.
A little about myself: I love cats and dogs, hanging out with friends and am a very family orientated person. I love to read classics from the 1900’s and 1600’s and love reading about vampires, and fallen angels in today’s reading world.
