Inconceivable by Corrina Murdoch

Nurtured by Controversy: How ‘Inconceivable’ Grew from a Seed of Division into a Thought-Provoking Exploration of Reproductive Rights.

Just like any creation, Inconceivable started as a seed waiting for fertile ground. As the world sewed divisions surrounding the abortion debate, an idea was born. Roe v. Wade was overturned, and that decision sparked a conversation. I am a strong believer that being a novelist is about more than creating gripping plotlines and engaging characters; it’s about delving into heavy topics to add value.

Exploring Obsession: ‘Inconceivable’ Examines Abortion Through the Male Perspective and Its Broader Impact on Society

Written as a suspense tale, Inconceivable started by considering abortion from all angles. Just as Authors’ Lounge features writers of all types, Inconceivable is about considering all those impacted by conception. James’ character is about obsession, and the male perspective on pregnancy termination—the impacts it can have on men in society.

Inconceivable’: A Title Rich with Meaning, Reflecting Infertility, Loss, and the Dark Side of Reproductive Choices.

The title ‘Inconceivable’ has multiple meanings. For Maria, James’ infertile wife, it means never being able to conceive. For Felicity, the OBGYN whose life is dedicated to choice, it’s about making up for the miscarriage that deprived her of that opportunity. Ultimately, the name comes from the story’s villain: Theresa—a serial abortionist.

Defying the Antihero Trend: Theresa’s Unforgivable Darkness Drives the Sinister Narrative of ‘Inconceivable.

As antihero culture grows in popularity, my book goes in the other direction. Her chaos and insanity drive the story forward. Connecting all the characters through sinister actions over time, her darkness continues to grow, leading to a shocking twist at the end.

A Thrilling Exploration: ‘Inconceivable’ Delves into Mental Health, Choice, and Agency Through a Gripping Fictional Lens.

This story is about taking the reader on a thrilling ride that delves into themes of mental health, choice, and agency. The objective of this novel is to provide an enjoyable, nail-biter of a read that uses the lens of fiction to allow for safe consideration of extreme topics. It’s meant for anyone impacted by the abortion debate, men and women alike.

Universal Relevance: ‘Inconceivable’ Resonates with Diverse Experiences and Aims to Transition into a Movie or Mini-Series.

From grandmothers to women struggling with fertility, men dealing with loss to people grappling with religion, Inconceivable applies to society as a whole—especially now. Thinking long-term, the plan is to turn the book into a movie or mini-series. In fact, there is already thrilling book promo video that you can find on my website.

More Than a Novelist: ‘Inconceivable’ Reflects My Life and Challenges Perspectives, Encouraging Important Discourse Through High-Stakes Suspense.

I authored this book because I am more than a novelist. I am a wife. A mother. A friend. Inconceivable allowed me to harness the power of all these aspects of my personhood and channel them into a piece of literature that holds a lens up to society.

Perhaps you begin reading the tale as an entirely pro-life or pro-choice activist. And conceivably the book reinforces those feelings. It could also challenge notions held near and dear, something that can be tricky to do without a catalyst. I’d like to think of Inconceivable as a way to encourage discourse. It’s a high-stakes suspense novel because the topic is so important.

Navigating Change: ‘Inconceivable’ Offers Fresh Perspectives and Keeps Readers Engaged with its Page-Turning Plot and Complex Characters.

The world is in a state of flux, much like the characters throughout the story. Change is inevitable, and it can feel like the world shifts beneath our feet. Stories let us look at the world through the eyes of others, offering perspective on long-held beliefs and truths. Inconceivable is a page-turner that keeps you guessing, building attachments to the characters.

Dramatic and Connected: ‘Inconceivable’ Reveals Life’s Interconnectedness Through Darkness, Friendship, Faith, Love, and Hope.

Is the book dramatic? Absolutely. It’s meant to highlight the interconnectedness of life—how we impact each other. I proudly contribute this book to the literary community because, while it shows the darkness of the world, it’s infused with themes of friendship, faith, love, and hope. Intense, seemingly impossible, situations enable characters (both real and fictional) to be their truest selves.

Exploring the Complexities of Life: How Villainy and Humanity Intertwine in Inconceivable

The fact that Theresa, the serial-abortionist, is the villain, highlights the value of life. Because James, a religious psychiatrist who dedicates his life to helping others, is flawed, it shows that no one is without reproach. We are all human, sharing the same world, and that unity remains true, even when topics like abortion threaten to divide us. Inconceivable gives readers the opportunity to feel everything from rage to loss, and use that experience to become  their truest selves.
