The inspiration for the book comes from my years of living with cats. I’ve had the pleasure of having a number of furry, scaled, winged, shelled companions in my life. But cats have stolen my heart. I find their independence, personality and curiosity intriguing and delightful. Like Forrest Gump’s box of chocolates, you’ll never know what your cat is up to next. I think that’s what keeps me on my toes. One minute they’re hurling things on the floor, the next they’re inviting you to rub their bellies, giving you big eyes and curling their toes. It’s adorable! Everyone should experience the joys of being in the company of cats, and I guess that’s also the reason why there’s so many cat cafes everywhere.

My cats Momo and Oreo have been instrumental to the writing of this book. I often say that they’re the real authors, and I’m simply translating their purrs, meows and coos into English. They also posed for many of the illustrations in the book, which was entertaining despite the chaos.
