Many things hinder spiritual growth. But what is spiritual growth? Spiritual growth is about becoming more like Jesus. When we believe in Jesus, the Holy Spirit makes us more like Him. 2 Peter 1:3-8 explains that God’s power helps us live godly lives, achieved through knowing Him in His Word.

Galatians 5:19-23 shows two lists. The first, “acts of the flesh,” represents our past sinful behavior before salvation. Through spiritual growth, these decrease. The second list, “fruit of the Spirit” (verses 22-23), defines a saved life. As we grow, the Spirit’s fruit becomes more visible.
