The writer Dorothy Parker once said that she did not love writing. She loved having written. Any writer can understand the feeling of satisfaction after having written a piece of which he or she is proud.
I write stories and poems. I have written a novella titled The Other Place in the Sea. It is an e-book, though it ought to be in paperback print soon. It was not published by ReadersMagnet, so I would like to thank them for allowing me access to this blog page, Author’s Lounge.
This novella was written four or five years before its recent publication online. I try often to get my work published. Every writer knows the heartbreaking disappointment of the rejection letter or email. Yet we persist, loving in some way what we do.
Writers’ works are accepted once. It is the readers who embrace our work many times over. We hope.
As much as I have my own way of loving what I do, a blog about writing seems almost redundant. A written work stands on its own, without the need for qualification or explanation.
That’s why my book needs to be read. If you are interested, go to www.lightswitchpress.com/authors. The title is The Other Place in the Sea. It is written by me, Irene Ferraro-Sives. It is for sale at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
I hope you connect with me through my work and I hope you enjoy the experience.
“She loved having written.” Sums up my feelings about writing. The journey is, hands down, one of the toughest thing I’ve encountered. No joke. But once I finish the piece, only then will I love the craft.
