Who Is Greg Bruorton?

Gregory Ward Bruorton, author of Baby Jane and Red Hand’s Prize, is an original dweller of Vermont and spent his formative years in Alabama and later in Detroit, Michigan. After a couple of years, Greg retired from the U.S. Army’s XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg (now Fort Liberty), North Carolina, as a senior non-commissioned officer in March 1980.
Moreover, Greg Bruorton, determined as ever, served in the Signal Corps and Military Intelligence. He also performed as the 82nd Airborne Division Commander’s Special Security Officer from 1976 to 1979.
Greg shared in an interview with Kate Delaney, “I graduated from jump school on June the 1st of 1973. I was a paratrooper ever since then until I retired in 1980. That was a joy to me. Now, the adrenaline rush we had and the camaraderie is even more important because when a war paratrooper sees another, he’s a brother all the way.”
For fourteen years, he had been with the U.S. Postal Service. However, he retired again in Civil Service and moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, in December 1997. That’s when he started new gripping ventures. He embraced other exciting and delightful sidelines, such as writing short stories and novels based on his life experiences, and also ventured into teaching guitar.
As the talented and passionate individual he is, he engaged in playing guitar and singing in country clubs, taverns, retirement homes, and church socials during his two careers and long afterward.
