What inspired you to write the book?
Well, have you ever noticed how little kids possess an amazing ability to dream and believe in the extraordinary? That’s what inspired me, after my daughter, who loves little ducks, told me that she wanted a book about a duckling who wants to fly, and that’s how the idea of giving her, and all the children who love ducks and lovely stories, this gift was born! I wanted to capture that magic and sprinkle it across the pages of “Dolly Duckling.” Kids are like rubber ducks – they bounce back no matter what. Their resilience and unwavering spirit truly inspired me to create a story that celebrates their incredible potential.
What is the target audience for the book?
“Dolly Duckling: A Brave Little Duck” is a delightful read for children aged 3 to 8 years old. Its engaging storyline and colorful illustrations captivate the imaginations of young readers, allowing them to embark on a thrilling adventure alongside Dolly. The book also serves as a source of inspiration for parents, educators, and caregivers who wish to instill in children the values of perseverance, self-belief, sharing, and the importance of chasing their dreams, or even spontaneous duck parades around the living room.
What do you hope readers could get out from your book?
