The First Step on your Destiny in the Realms of Fate Series!
Hello fellow readers & writers, my name is Kyle Johnson, and I want to introduce you and the rest of Authors’ Lounge to the first novel in the Realms of Fate series, “Destiny Conquers All”. This has been an arduous endeavor of mine and I can’t wait to walk you through the universe I have created.
Summary:
Destiny Conquers All takes place in a war-torn, hostile world, where to live in peace and harmony with others is nothing more than an unobtainable dream. The realm has been divided into two, utterly distinct empires; the barbaric, Social-Darwinist Hammerfist Empire, where only the strongest survive and one’s life is only judged by their ability to wage war, and the pseudo-enlightened, decadent Shining Light Empire, where the masses struggle in poverty while the aristocracy flaunts luxury beyond imagination. The passing of time matters little to the millions of commoners, who simply wish to live and be left alone. Seen as nothing but tools to the rulers of either empire, the vast majority of the population struggle to stay out of the path of destruction from the rival empire or from their own.
It isn’t until two complete strangers, each from different empires, are mysteriously drawn to one another, that the realm will be forever changed. A pair from humble origins and without means to excel in their downtrodden environments, their coming together ushers in an age of horror and violence that make the past age seem like a heavenly utopia. The realm is plunged into the depths of a nightmarish hell, without any hope of bringing it back from the chaos in has now transformed into, that is, until many years later when another, seemingly random couple of commoners inexplicably meet. Will they simply follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, or will they right the wrongs caused not only by the first pair, but from the empires they once belonged to?
Background:
Destiny Conquers All takes an indirect but in-depth look at the power systems to which not only the characters belong to, but we the readers do as well. The novel examines key characteristics of society, which include classism, racism, chauvinistic mentality (regarding gender, nations, and species), power relations, and the systems to keep the masses in their assigned positions. The difference in the understanding and usage of the powers the two pairs acquire highlights the two tendencies individuals or nations express themselves when they are imbued with seemingly unlimited power and potential. Will power be concentrated or shared? Will it be used to liberate or enslave? Will the ambitions and desires of the entity trump the ever-increasing needs of the many? These are the questions that are explored in Destiny Conquers All and the realities depicted within are not so different from the realities we have all experienced. Readers are invited to delve into their own imagination and embrace the connections they make in the novel to truly see who they would become in this epic fantasy. If one cast right or wrong asunder, we will soon enter the Realms of Fate.
Author:

I have been writing off and on for many years, but like many people, life has always pulled me in multiple directions simultaneously. After years of working on my first novel, I am glad to be able to finally present my first entry in the Realm of Fate series. This work has taken me on a wild journey, from being displeased about academic writing on the topics mentioned above, to desiring to reach out to the masses of our own world with a message that was written in non-academic jargon and provided an immersive, entertaining experience as well. I am currently working on my next entry in the series titled “Essence of Chaos” and look forward to sharing that with you as well. Since I use the experiences and lessons from our varied past and present to shape the novels I write, I look forward to seeing how our world develops and how it can be mirrored in the Realms of Fate series.
Acknowledgements:
I would like to thank my family and friends who have supported me throughout this process and have provided the necessary encouragement when I thought I didn’t have what it took to be an author. This experience has taught me many things, but one of the biggest lessons is that being an author doesn’t require any special talents or innate abilities, it is only an expression of your being, and that is something all of us can do. It took me a very long time to understand that, but I am glad I did. I would also like to thank Lena Elliot for reaching out to me for this article in Authors’ Lounge, you made me one happy writer!
