Thank you Author’s Lounge for this exposure and opportunity to introduce myself and my second book.
1. What is your book all about?
Consequences of Crime, Greed, & Love is the second book of a three-book series titled ‘who would have thought.’ Book one title is ‘Who would have thought.’ Both books allow the reader to read them in any order because they are independent of each other. Both books are in the fiction genre. This book is a tense and fast past mystery, crime, and suspense story with overtones of greed and love. The story unfolds around a threat to a hotel owner but also involves:
- A real estate developer: Who is the real estate developer, and how do they fit into the story
- A gullible airline ticket agent: What is the connection of agent with the hotel owner
- The best investigator in the state of Alaska: What is the outcome of the investigator’s dangerous situation
This mystery unfolds in three cities:
- Anchorage, Alaska
- Fairbanks, Alaska
- Pensacola, Florida.
The investigator, the protagonist, gets caught up in a web of mystery and lies, which causes his life to be in danger.
2. What inspired you to write the book?
I enjoy reading fiction novels, and my favorite author and inspiration was Stuart Woods, who passed away in 2022. Woods always wrote books that would pique your interest in the first chapter, and he only wrote short chapters most of the time. I always wanted to write a book and ensure my books would pique the interest in the first chapter as well. So, I started writing my first book upon retirement from the Department of Defense. Over the years reading other fiction novels, I figured my writing could be as well or better as the bestselling authors I’ve read.
3. What is your target audience for the book?
My audience for this book is anyone eighteen or older. That audience would include not only readers who enjoy fiction but other genres as well and that they would be entertained by my writing. This audience would also include those readers who purchase their books online, walk into their local bookstore, contact the author directly, or visit their local library.
4. What do you hope readers could get out from your book?
I first hope is readers will enjoy reading this book. My second hope is that I become the favorite author of old and new readers and that they can’t wait to read my next book. Thirdly, I hope they also see that I’ve done a lot of research for this book, so they can learn and understand not only what a protagonist investigator does for a law firm but other aspects such as the cities channeled for this book.
5. What are your future goals/plans for the book?
I want everyone to read and enjoy this book, so I plan to get this book into audio format towards the end of 2023. So many people enjoy listening to books while riding in a car, on vacation, or have limited space in their home for printed books. Many have problems with their sight but want to enjoy books just as anyone else. I am currently writing the third and final book in this series, which ends all three books.
6. And something more about yourself?
I will publish my series’ final and third book by July 2023. I’m also writing a self-help book that will also be out in 2023 not related to this book. My writing ritual includes a minimum of one month researching. I look for a location that fits my story and look for the most famous name in that city or state at the time. I ensure the definition of that name matches what I’m trying to portray for the protagonist in my story. I also look at traditions and special events in that city to ensure I’m not disrespecting any customs or cultural events that are celebrated across that state or the country.
My two hobbies when not writing are reading and quilting. You can find more information about me and subscribe to my quarterly newsletter on my website at: Website
