The Other Side of Fear is a moving and inspiring memoir of a woman who found healing and salvation.
Resilience is essential to all human beings. Life is full of challenges and demands, and in order to survive and enjoy life to the fullest, we must learn to overcome whatever life throws at us. But being resilient is not easy all the time. We need all the help we can get- from family, friends, and God. Without God’s grace, we would be left in the dark or be consumed by grief and self-doubt. Today, we will feature the inspiring and heartwarming story of W. Veronica Lisare in The Other Side of Fear.
The Other Side of Fear
The Other Side of Fear by W. Lisare was released in 2019. In this touching biography, we learn about the life and redemption of Lisare, a former nurse and a mother. Lisare’s life was a series of tragedies and depressing turns.
As a kid, she had an abusive childhood. Although she got married, it proved to be difficult and eventually ended in divorce. Lisare got a career as a nurse but suffered financial losses and got sick with cancer. She also had to deal with the loss of her grandchild. Despite the unhappy childhood and the numerous trials she faced, Lisare eventually found God and ministry as her salvation. In her book, Lisare shares her journey towards forgiveness and healing. According to W. Lisare, understanding our past traumas, toxicity, and even resentment does not disqualify us in the eyes of God. It also does not determine our future or dictate our life forever. We always have a choice and we can always choose to rise above the challenges and seek higher meaning in life. This is what exactly happened to her; Lisare rediscovered herself and chose to begin again and, this time, with God. Lisare began to let go of condemnation, self-hatred, and shame and instead embrace her true identity as a daughter of the King of kings’. By telling her story, Lisare invites us to learn to trust God and in the belief that we can do all things through Christ.
“This is a story of moving from abuse, crippling fear, and low self-esteem to knowing the ultimate love of God. Author W. Veronica Lisare has discovered courage, joy, hope, freedom, and fulfillment as she embraces her authentic identity as a daughter of the King of kings. She shares her journals’ intimate details from an unhappy childhood, through a loveless marriage, a divorce, the loss of a granddaughter, and a battle with cancer to a rewarding nursing job and a second career as a minister of the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The testimony of the author and the spiritual tools she learned along the journey will inspire all who read it to move through their own challenges to God’s perfect love and the other side of fear.” (book description)
W. Veronica Lisare’s The Other Side of Fear is more than a biography. It is an inspiring narrative that reminds us that life is not perfect, and more often than not, leaves us with many unexpected trials. Lisare’s journey tells us that we always have a choice in all these. We can choose to wallow in fear and melancholy or choose to seek God’s grace, embrace our scars, and begin a life that is filled with hope, faith, devotion, and love of self and others. The Other Side of Fear is a remarkable biography, to say the least.
