Daniel M. Dewald is the author of the riveting book Grey Feathers: Led by Love of Country, an accurate gripping account of the Vietnam War.

Daniel M. Dewald is an Indiana native born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is an Army Veteran from the US who served in the 4th Infantry Division from August 1969 to 1970. A brave man, he held the rank of 1st Lieutenant and served as a combat platoon leader during his time. His experience in the war netted him commendations and medals. For his quick decision-making in conducting an orderly withdrawal from the conflict, Daniel M. Dewald rescued the company commander and four other companions under bitter enemy fire. He presented and received the Bronze Star for Valor for his efforts. Daniel once again was able to show his courage when he participated in a joint operation with the Army South Vietnam (ARVN). He received a Silver Oak Leaf Cluster. Other medals he received include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Air Medal, and others.

Outside of his military duties and distinction, Daniel M. DeWald is a recipient of an MBA degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He also has a BS degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ohio, about 174 miles from his hometown. He has experience working for several blue-chip companies. After that stint, Daniel served as a consultant in supply chain activities. Currently, he is enjoying life in Charleston, South Carolina.
