Alvina Platt-Gregory is the author of the inspirational poetry book, Poetic Parables.

ReadersMagnet has featured several poets and authors of inspirational poetry these past few months. Many of them are taking part in this year’s The Festival of Storytellers or TFOS. It is a virtual book fair that is sponsored and organized by ReadersMagnet. Today, we are going to feature one of the participating poets, Alvina Y. Platt-Gregory. She is the author of the poetry book Poetic Parables: Listen with your Heart.

Alvina Y. Platt-Gregory: Background and Interest

Alvina Y. Platt-Gregory is a teacher, designer, and poet. She is a native of Trenton, New Jersey. Alvina Y. Platt-Gregory is a mother of three and a grandmother. She has raised three successful sons and is blessed with a granddaughter and a grandson.

Alvina Y. Platt-Gregory is a health and Physical Education elementary teacher at Trenton school district. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Education from Grand Canyon University in 2012. Platt-Gregory also graduated from Living Faith Bible Academy and Academy and The College of New Jersey. The college was formerly known as Trenton State College.

Aside, her poetry and interest in the Bible, Alvina is also a custom clothier designer. She trained and received her diploma in dressmaking and design from Harcourt Learning Direct. As a designer, her business motto is “Dressing the Spirit in You”, a hint that of Alvina Y. Platt-Gregory’s strong and healthy spiritual life.

Alvina Y. Platt-Gregory firmly recognized the presence of the Holy Spirit is visible in her life. Jesus would teach in parable, and she felt the need to name her book “Poetic Parables” because, according to her, it is filled with poems that share what God can do if you seek His wisdom and let Him have his way. Platt-Gregory believes that Jesus always has the answer to every situation.

This year, Alvina Y. Platt-Gregory will be joining the first-ever ReadersMagnet virtual book fair, The Festival of Storytellers (TFOS 2021). The said event will gather over a hundred authors and other personalities for a six-day virtual book exhibition, talks, and workshops. The TFOS 2021 will run from April 23rd to April 25th and April 30th to May 2nd, 2021.
