What Inspired Me to Write Cookbooks
My love for home baking is deeply rooted in my life experiences. From the warm, nostalgic aromas of my childhood kitchen to my fascination with desserts from around the world, every aspect of my journey has shaped this book. My first cookbook, A Confectioner’s Secrets, was a resounding success and garnered rave reviews. This encouraged me to delve deeper into the world of baking and share my evolving craft with a broader audience.
This book is also inspired by my artistic skills. Cake art became a natural extension of my creativity, and the techniques I’ve mastered over the years are showcased in this collection. For me, baking is not just about taste but also about creating visual impact and memorable experiences.

From a young age, I found solace and inspiration in reading cookbooks and exploring the world of desserts. My journey into the art of baking began serendipitously in 2009 when I discovered my passion for cake decorating while crafting a birthday cake for my son’s third birthday. What started as a joyful experiment soon blossomed into a career, leading to the creation of Melting Moments, my home-based business where sugary enchantment and edible dreams come to life.
Driven by the sheer joy of bringing smiles to others, I honed my skills, crafted bold flavor combinations, and introduced themed cakes that quickly gained popularity. Melting Moments is a haven where not only treats are baked to perfection but also where memorable moments are shared and cherished.
Fueled by a desire to inspire others, I began hosting workshops to share my expertise, helping aspiring bakers embrace the world of cake artistry. These experiences encouraged me to develop unique recipes, constantly pushing the boundaries of flavors and creativity. This passion for creating, baking, and inspiring led me to chronicle my culinary adventures through the written word. Years of research and recipe testing have been poured into my two cookbooks: A Confectioner’s Secrets (2018) and Cakes, Desserts and Beyond (2022). Within their pages, you’ll find a wealth of carefully curated recipes, featuring delectable treats, desserts, and cakes. Each recipe is meticulously crafted with detailed instructions and insightful tips to ensure your baking endeavors are a resounding success.
Over the years, my journey in baking has been marked by significant milestones. I won first place twice in a chocolate-themed dessert competition organized by ‘Out of the Box,’ a media and event company in Bahrain, and secured first place in a baking competition hosted by Wilton in Bahrain. I’ve had the honor of baking for the royal family in Bahrain and was invited to create a themed cake for Bahrain TV’s Eid celebratory show.
My work has been celebrated in prominent media outlets, including Gulf Daily News, Gulf Weekly, AAK News, The Daily Tribune, Fact Magazine, and SMET. In 2020, I was deeply honored to be named Woman of the Year by Salaam Bahrain magazine.
