When Jennifer Jacksons from Author’s Magnet asked me to write an article about my book, I Can Never Tell, like every author probably does, I thought me write words about a book? That’s easier said than done right? 😊 But I decided to do it and share with you a little about me and my book.
The book I Can Never Tell, is about Raven who one night sees a man get murdered. The man, she believes to be her father. Being a writer, she details everything of that night in her journal. She wants to use it to find who killed her father and bring justice to her family. However, years later, she goes to submit a manuscript of a book she was writing. She finally has the courage to do it, only to accidentally attach her manuscript instead. She doesn’t realize in that instant, but once she does, she is told by a friend that they think they have found her dad’s killer.
Now she has to get her manuscript before they print it for publishing and see if her friend was right about the killer.
But there is always a catch. As she is thinks about that night, the memory of what happened starts to blur and leaves her wondering if she was wrong about what she saw.
As the story goes on, the reader will learn more about Raven, about her friends, about her parents through flashbacks, that hopefully will paint the picture of what happened.
I was inspired to write this book from something I was watching that had the name Raven. From there I built the story around it making her a writer.
My target audience is anyone that is over the age of 18. The reason being is that it has some strong scenes like violence and death. It’s best suited for people over 18.
Even then, I know that not everyone will be ok with it. Which is fine. That is something that we as authors have to deal with when we publish our books.
What do I hope my readers will get from this story?
Without giving any spoilers about the book away, I hope that the book will make my readers think. Especially about the characters and their issues. About themselves. About the people they see everyday. I hope I was able to emphasize the good more than the bad.
Because at the end of the day it is a psychological thriller, and we all know how psychological thrillers go. Right?
Do I have any future plans for this book? No right now. However, I did leave the ending with a slight opening so that If I do decide to expand on it, I can do so. Maybe in the future I will expand on Raven’s world.
I have published other books of other genres, mostly in Mystery/Thriller/Paranormal genres such as:
The Body Switch – English Edition
El Interruptor De Cuerpo – Spanish Edition of The Body Switch
Asha both in English and Spanish – paranormal thriller
The Hand with the Sun Tattoo – Alternate Title and Book Cover to Ashes
The Xperiment – English Edition (misspelled on purpose)
El Xperimento – Spanish Edition
Shadow of Darkness – English Edition – paranormal thriller
I continue to write, and I have a few more books in the works. Three of them will be a body-swapped by magic spell stories, and I may publish a slasher book one day. That one is still in the planning stages with no end in sight.
I will have the second part of The Body Switch, Another Body Switch (Of course! What else was I going to name it? 😊) which I have scheduled to publish in December 2022.
I am also dabbling on script writing, and when I say dabbling, I mean I wrote one page of script. My plans are to one day have a good viable script that I can sell to Netflix, Lifetime or any other streaming or director that will buy it. You never know if it happens, and dreams come true everyday. I hope you enjoy reading this and my books if you decide to purchase them.
