The Boy Who Skated with Dragons” is about a shy boy who has trouble making friends because he is scared to talk to other people, he has a very creative imagination, his only friends are imaginary dragons. He feels very alone until one day when he discovers skateboarding.

His life changes once he starts skating, he is able to make friends and overcome his struggle with shyness, he is also able to build confidence and learn to believe in himself. The boy learns that anything is possible through hard work and dedication.

He finds meaning and purpose in sharing his talents with others.  This book is written and illustrated by Jim Bates who is a professional skateboarder who struggled with being shy and feeling out of place, the goal is to inspire others with a positive message “Believe in yourself and follow your dreams” we can all accomplish amazing things in our life and we all have our own talents that we can use to make a difference in other people’s lives even through our struggles. No one is perfect and we can all make a difference in this world.
