Christmas at the Hamblens

Time for the annual Christmas tradition of the wearing of my red Christmas cape. I wear this cape only at Christmas, mostly to church and to festive occasions during the holiday season. I twirl around in the cape in front of David the first time I wear it and he always smiles and says admiringly, “You look beautiful in that cape.”
I respond, “I know. I’m little Red Riding Hood and I’m looking for a big, bad wolf. Know where I can find one?”
The smile fades from his face as he draws back and answers quite definitively, “NO.”
Oh, well, you can’t blame a girl for trying.
