Mommy Mommy: Look the Man Has One Leg
Mommy Mommy: Look the Man Has One Leg was first published in 2015. This book was written by William Dalmas with the help of his loving wife, Martine. The book was inspired by the many encounters their children had with persons with disabilities. The couple made sure that they try to truthfully answer the questions their children ask them. The two ensured that when answering these inquisitions it is in a polite way or sympathetic to personal feelings.
The book follows the story of a young boy named, Billy. Billy was a curious boy. One day, he and his mother went to the beach. There, Billy learned numerous lessons that will forever be engraved in his heart and mind.
It is expected that children, with their young age and innocent phase, to be curious and inquisitive. Children tend to ask plenty of questions. These questions young kids ask allows them to learn and understand the world more. The more curious a child can get, the more he or she learns. Nevertheless, a child’s curiosity is boundless and limitless making them appear rude and insensitive. Thus, Dalmas’ book came to be.
According to Martine Dalmas, the author’s wife, the purpose of this book is to teach children the right manners and to be sensitive to other people’s feelings, most especially to people who have special needs. The husband and wife believe that everyone, no matter the differences, must be treated with respect and dignity.
