The endeavor was dubbed Festival of Storytellers, and I think it is a great, ground-breaking idea. After only a few failed attempts (on my part I hasten to add), I could present with ease! My author relations officer was patient and knowledgeable. I went live from my Let’s Talk About Fairytales booth and had a blast. I had missed interacting with other readers and writers, and here I got the opportunity to respond to those “chatting” with me during my live time. I must admit to nervousness at first; but as I talked about a subject that I liked, the thoughts and words bubbled out. I can’t wait to do it again.

When I was first solicited for business by the marketing firm "Reader's Magnet", I was unfamiliar both with them and with book marketing in general so naturally, I was skeptical.... read more Since I knew I needed some kind of marketing to make my book available to a wider audience, I decided to give them a try. Their Festival of Storytellers is a rather new online book fair which promised to give me a live audience for up to an hour a day (or more, if I could endure it) for a period of two weeks, to present my book and field any questions through their online chat box. I decided to do these live presentations for an hour every other day, and, after I got the hang of how to speak to an unseen audience, I really enjoyed the experience to the point where I wish I could have spent even more time doing it. No marketing is inexpensive, but given the technical support of a live presentation for up to 50 different authors, including three training sessions on how to be effective with a live audience, I felt that the money I spent was well worth it.

I think the imaginable the wondrous voice inside of me said, I never would have thought I would’ve had the opportunity to become partners of the adventure with the Readers... read more Magnet publishing company. The adventure begins with their putting together workshops so that I and others would become acquainted with being involved with zoom so that I could learn, grow, and being stretched (“ouch“). with this new concept of technology. Live on computer was a bit troubling for me. I was apprehensive at first , but the more I became familiar with the ideas the were being presented to me by the Readers Magnet representatives I became more accepting of the ideas. The workshops were extremely helpful for me. Asking questions and listening to others responding was also helpful, being given the chance to gain insight into what the training was all about, and for. Becoming more familiar with the the concept which was spoken live by the instructiors. I for one need to ask questions, questions that don’t intimidate, but trulyly try to help myself and maybe help someone else. Preparing for the day of Festival of Story Tellers approaches and knowing what I was going to do was important to me as I asked myself “where are you going with this adventure,” and reminding myself that God is an abundant God and with Him all things are possible. Remembering this truth gave way to Yuen idea of wearing a Lady Bug costume which is one of the characters in my book, The Ladybug and the Bully Frog. The day of the Festival of Story Tellers event was amazing, scary, and challenging to say the least.
