Jasmine: A Woman of Color is a romance mystery novel by Monique Boyd.

Romance mystery novels have been making a comeback these past few years. The success of romance thrillers such as Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L James, Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, and The Obsession by Nora Roberts paved the way to the rise of modern romance thrillers and authors. One of today’s newly published romance books is a mini thriller by Monique Boyd. Monique Boyd’s debut novel is entitled Jasmine: A Woman of Color. The book was published in 2018. Let us take a closer look.

Jasmine: A Woman of Color 2018

Jasmine: A Woman of Color is a romantic thriller by Monique Boyd published in 2018. It follows the story of Jasmine Moore, a recently widowed Executive Assistant. Even before losing her husband, Jasmine already knew about her husband’s infidelities. She had planned to seek revenge but instead found herself falling in love with a doctor. Finding love and comfort the second time around, Jasmine lets go of her revenge. However, it seems that her newfound romance is not bound to be peaceful and copacetic as she hoped it would be. Jasmine soon finds out that somebody is trying to kill her. However, she has no clue. To protect herself and her happiness, Jasmine Moore must get to the bottom of this once and for all.

Jasmine: A Woman of Color is divided into eight sections. It begins with Jasmine’s marriage to Mike. Both were single parents who found love and decided to get married and start a family. However, a little over a year into their marriage, Jasmine discovers that Mike is having an affair. As the book progresses, Jasmine learns more about Mike’s extra-marital activities and has vowed revenge. However, aside from the things that Jasmine is discovering, another crisis is unfolding, one that will catch her on surprise. She discovers a threat to her life and unless she solves this mystery, Jasmine and her children will never be truly safe. Jasmine: A Woman of Color is not your typical romance novel. It is filled not only with passion, deceit but also with several unexpected plot twists that will leave you at the edge of your seat. Monique Boyd’s Jasmine: A Woman of Color is a refreshing and delightful read for all fans of romance mysteries.
