First, I want to thank Authors’ Lounge for helping authors like me promote their books to a wide audience of readers by giving me the opportunity to introduce myself to you and talk about my novel, I promise.

I promise was released in March 2020 in French, under its original title, C’est promis! Although I have always loved to read and wanted to write, I had never managed to finish a book before. When I embarked on the adventure of C’est promis! I didn’t tell anyone, not even my husband, who was beginning to wonder at the sight of me, glued to my computer, going to bed late at night. The reason for my silence is that I didn’t want to jinx myself. I was afraid that if I revealed my secret, I wouldn’t finish writing the novel. When I finished it, there was no question of publishing it. I was simply proud and happy to have put the word THE END to this story that I had been writing for a few months, while working in human resources. It was my friends who pushed me to publish it and, honestly, I did it without really believing it. The success that C’est promis ! met really surprised me and the feedback from the readers pushed me to write a second book published in September 2020, Juste amis… ou presque, then a third one, published in July 2022, Electrik Love.

Today, I’d like to introduce you to I promise, my first romance. This two-part novel tells the story of Romane and Noam who have been chosen as witnesses for the wedding of Emilie, Romane’s best friend, and Luke, Noam’s brother. Romane fell in love with Noam from their first meeting but he promised his brother not to approach her. A promise that will be difficult to keep when they meet again, four years after he left France to travel around the world. Between an irresistible attraction, a forbidden love, a tight-knit group of friends and exes who resurface, how will Romane and Noam cope? Love, friendship and laughter are at the heart of this story set in Paris.

The readers of my books are varied. I recommend them to people 16 and older, and I know people who like my novels who are 30, 50, 70 or older. It doesn’t matter! The main thing is to have a good time, to get out of the daily routine, to laugh… There is no age to be locked in the bubble of this romantic comedy.

I am a self-published French author who is slowly approaching forty. As a mother of two daughters aged 7 and 10, I find inspiration in my daily life, my family, my friends, but mostly in my head. Since I was a little girl, I love to read. JK Rowling, Jane Austen, Janet Evanovich, Alexandre Dumas… I like all types of novels but I prefer to write about romance. My books must be funny to forget reality, to escape, to laugh and to dream.

I am now working full time on this passion and have three books in French to my credit and am working on the fourth which should be released in June 2023. For the moment, only C’est promis ! has been translated. If it is successful with English readers, I will consider translating the others but don’t worry, it’s not a saga, I guarantee it has a real ending to I promise!
