Pamela Hollrah-Asleson, author and inspiring speaker, has penned one of today’s most captivating and moving books.
Authors typically tap into their experiences to write pieces that move their readers. There’s undeniable power in writing about events that have happened, those with an ounce of truth and authenticity. In bearing their vulnerability and sharing their truth, they use the wisdom they’ve gathered over time to motivate and convey a lesson they believe can benefit others.
It might be challenging writing from an unguarded perspective. Looking back during their weakest points can be invasive, as though they’ve been stripped of power once more. But most authors also find power from this standpoint, a certain air of confidence in knowing they’ve overcome these circumstances. And they are now capable of talking and inspiring others about them.
Indeed, authors can find credence knowing they’ve prevailed over life’s struggles. After all, this means they now have authority over these topics and strength over similar situations. They can express these through art and the books they write. Take Yoked With Christ by Pamela Hollrah-Asleson, for instance.
Pamela Hollrah-Asleson, An Author Who Found Power Over Vulnerability
Pamela is currently a registered nurse with more than 40 years of experience. Beyond the hospital walls, she nurtures a poetic heart, which she taps into during her days as an active Toastmasters speaker. She’s as involved in literature as medicine – a balance of passions she juggles throughout her life.
As a nurse, she needs to be a source of strength, especially to patients who need them the most. However, Pamela Hollrah-Asleson didn’t have the easiest life.
While hers wasn’t exactly at par with those who deeply struggled throughout their lives, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Pamela, or Pam as her friends knew her, had gone through her fair share of struggles. But she grew through these circumstances instead of succumbing, with grit and resilience powering her steps.
Pamela Hollrah-Asleson knew life would be filled with ups and downs. Yet, nothing could’ve prepared her for what she was about to experience. Her circumstances weren’t tremendously harmful compared to others she went through, yet they were enough to knock her down. With the ground almost as if swallowing her, experiencing south with every bit of her, she knew she didn’t belong there.
She needed to bounce back. This is where her belief in God’s love shone through her anguish and provided a path back to the surface. She knew a massive part of her triumph needed to be credited to God and her faith, which she recognized as a spiritual gift that also needed to be shared.
Poet’s Heart, God’s Gift: Yoked With Christ
Capturing her journey, both the ups and downs, Pamela Hollrah-Asleson penned her debut book, Poet’s Heart God’s Gift: Yoked with Christ. This is a book of art and a devotional that aims to remind readers that they aren’t alone, similar to what Pamela experienced in her life.
Everybody knows life can be unfair. This truth can be read through stories and observed through movies, fictional or based on reality. But nobody comes truly and naturally equipped with adequate competence and resources to evade these circumstances without receiving bruises. Nobody can foresee when these events happen to avoid experiencing them successfully.
This was also what Pamela Hollrah-Asleson experienced.
But having overcome her lows, she now sees that her experiences will give others wisdom. This may not help them prevent facing struggles, for nobody can do that. Instead, she hopes her readers may find the strength to bounce back and find their way through her poetry. Her devotional workbook aims to help individuals struggling, reminding them they aren’t alone.
Individuals sharing the same or even the closest similarity to their burdens alongside Jesus are bearing the struggle with them. After all, what people often need in order to triumph over difficulties is a companion that will go through the storm with them. This is what Pam’s book provides: a helping hand and a comforting presence whenever the world becomes too heavy to carry.
